BACKGROUND

The International Trade Centre (ITC), a joint agency of the United Nations (UN) and the World Trade

Organization (WTO) engaged in trade-related technical assistance, is implementing a project titled “EU

– Sri Lanka Trade-Related Assistance: Increasing SMEs' Trade Competitiveness in Regional and EU

Markets”.

The project, funded by the European Union (EU) and being implemented in collaboration with the

government of Sri Lanka, aims to increase the trade competitiveness of small and medium-sized

enterprises (SMEs) in regional and EU markets.

The companies highlighted in this note are receiving support under Expected Result Area 4 of the

project “Increased SME competitiveness in export-oriented sectors (ITO/BPO industry)”, for deeper

business engagement in the EU Market”.

These companies are therefore interested in engaging with potential partners from EU countries. ITC

supports their participation in relevant trade events in the EU. ITC also facilitates business partnership

engagement by companies from EU countries, with the listed Sri Lankan ITO/BPO companies, including

through cost shared business missions to Sri Lanka (ITC covers travel costs and organises matched

appointments) for committed feasible prospects. The companies listed in this note have confirmed
