Power On Procedure Power on ETERNUS from Controller Enclosure Push the Power Switch If everything is OK, the READY LED will go green in about three minutes
LEDs
POWER • Green when the power is turned on READY • Green when the system is available for use FAULT • Steady orange when a malfunctioning system
component has been detected • Blinking orange when a preventive replacement of
a system component is required IDENTIFY • Blinking blue when turned on from the
management software CACHE • Steady green when the cache is in use • Blinking green when a power failure has occurred
and the cache data has been stored in the CompactFlash memory

Power Off Procedure Power off the ETERNUS by pressing the Power switch of the
Controller Enclosure for 4 seconds You can power off also using the ETERNUS Web GUI
• Select menu [Utilities] [Shutdown/Restart System] The power supply of the device will shut down in 30 seconds
• If a reboot is chosen, the device will be rebooted after shutdown
Before shutting the system down Ask customer to confirm that all
Server I/O is stopped Check that the CACHE LED on
the Operation Panel is off
Make sure the CACHE LED of the Controller Enclosure is off

between the management computer and ETERNUS DX IP-address/Subnet mask ETERNUS MNT Port
• Default 192.168.1.1 / 255.255.255.0 Set a fixed IP address for the computer to be connected to ETERNUS
• Needs to within the same IP address subnet with the ETERNUS MNT Port (for example 192.168.1.2)
Connect the LAN port of the computer to the ETERNUS MNT Port • Direct connection with normal or crossed cable
