A personal timeline of educational technology

Page 2: ETEC timeline Katrina Johnson

OverviewMy name is Katrina Johnson.

I started school in 1994 in Kahalu'u, Hawai'i.

I graduated from Castle High School in 2007 in Kaneohe, Hawai'i.

I first went to college at UH Manoa in 2007.

When I finish my degree, I hope to become a high school math teacher.

My definition of educational technology

I think of educational technology as incorporating technology in

the classroom in a way that enhances the students learning

in the most efficient way possible.

A technology I want to use in my classroom

I really hope to be able to use smart boards in my class at some point in my career.

My vision of the classroom of the future

I would like to see the students have interactive desks that the student could just plug their memory stick into. The surface would be like a mini smart board, and the stick would hold all their personal settings.

A challenge for teaching

Since I plan to teach in public schools here in Hawai'i, money will definitely be one of the biggest challenges when trying to incorporate technology into my lessons. The state just doesn't have the money to pay for a lot of up to date technology in schools.
