Arrivederci, Roma! This is the title of a song written in 1955 by Renato Rascel, with texts by Pietro Garinei and Sandro Giovannini. “Arrivederci” literally means “see you again”; indeed, the song is inspired by the beauty of the Eternal City and by the feelings that they induce on a tourist that is leaving. We hope that you have enjoyed ETAPS’13, its scientific events, its social events and the overall organization. The numbers tell us that it was a success: around 650 participants, 609 papers submitted to the main conferences (among which only 148 were accepted, leading to 24.3% as acceptance rate), 22 workshops, 3 tutorials, 2 celebrations. After POPL’13 (held in January) and ETAPS’13 (now in March), we will have the pleasure and the honour of hosting also CONCUR’14 in our beautiful city. See you soon, then! The atelier of Bulgari opened in Via Condotti in 1905; Armani, Hermès, Cartier, Ferragamo and Battistoni (the latter was a tailor favoured by the late Duke of Windsor) are located here. Via Borgognona hosts Via Cola di Rienzo, Via Ottaviano and Viale Giulio Cesare form one of the most important areas for shopping and cafés in the city: next to many family owned, unbranded shops, there are several boutiques, like Trussardi, Energy, Diesel Jeans, Miss Sixty, Armani and Benetton. Another picturesque shopping street is Via Margutta, a small street near Piazza di Spagna, with art galleries, restaurants and antique dealers.     A thematic journey into Rome: Shopping

    Rome offers you several places where you can

    find great souvenirs of your trip in Italy. Via

    Condotti, Via Borgognona and Via Frattina are

    that reach Via del Corso; they are the best known

    highly expensive fashion in Rome. The atelier of

  • ETAPS’14 in Grenoble

    The 17th edition of ETAPS will take place on

    April 5th to 13

    th, 2014, in Grenoble (France), with

    workshops on April 5th-6th and 12

    th-13

    th, and Main

    Conferences on April 7th-11

    th.

    There will be 20 workshops and conferences

    affiliated to ETAPS 2014. The invited speakers

    will be: Christel Baier (Technical University of

    Dresden, Germany), Benoit Dupont de Dinechin

    (Kalray, France), Robert Harper (Carnegie

    Mellon University, US), Maurice Herlihy (Brown

    University, US), Petr Jančar (Technical Univ of

    Ostrava, Czech Republic), Orna Kupferman

    (Hebrew University Jerusalem, Israel), John

    Launchbury (Galois, US) and David Mazières

    (Stanford University, US).

    Located in the south-eastern part of France,

    Grenoble is considered as the capital of the Alps.

    Grenoble is surrounded by nature and high

    mountains: down the Alps, Grenoble is the

    meeting point of two important rivers, called Drac

    and Isère. Grenoble has important historical and

    gastronomic heritages. Leisure activities in

    breathtaking nature are easily organizable and

    within short-distance. Grenoble is also a major

    scientific centre in Europe dedicated to high-tech

    technologies, e.g., nano, micro, bio and

    information technologies.

    Pre and Post workshops will take place in

    Grenoble's Campus. The campus is easily and

    quickly reachable from downtown with public

    transportation. Main conferences will take place

    in the Grenoble World Trade Centre, located in

    the city centre.

    Grenoble is easily reachable by several means:

    • By plane: There are 3 airports:

    o International airport of Lyon Saint-

    Exupery (100 km). There is a bus

    connection between Lyon Saint-

    Exupery and the Grenoble train station.

    o Grenoble Saint-Geoirs airport (45km).

    A bus is waiting for every arriving

    plane.

    o The Geneva International airport (150

    km). There is a bus connection to

    Grenoble.

    • By train: There are TGV (fast train)

    connections with Paris (3h travel time, 7

    trains/day), Lyon (1h30 travel time, 28

    trains/day) and Brussels (5h travel time),

    international connections to Geneva

    (120km) and Milano.
