Secretary Report

Hello DAQ Members, the year is fast approaching an end. Only one more meeting for the year, 24th

November, Durack, 7pm. If you are unable to make the Durack venues for the night, you are welcome to call

one of the committee during the meeting, and be in the meeting via phone.

Soon I will be sending out 2016 Membership Renewal paperwork to you all. With this paperwork I will attach

the DAQ Code Of Ethics and a copy of our Constitution. Please familiarize yourself with these documents.

Memberships are due on the 31st December each year. If you are not a current financial member, you are

unable to vote at meetings (including our upcoming AGM) and your show results will not count towards the

2016 Point Score results,( until after the date you have paid.) It is also required that you need to return a fully

filled in membership form to me, with your membership payment,( even if your details have not changed since

the previous year.) Life Members, you will need to return your completed form, to me too. We have

attached the 2016 Membership Form , with this current newsletter. If you wish to pay via direct deposit, to the

DAQ bank account please contact me and I will provide details.

Looking at trying to build our club through 2016 and beyond, everyone put your thinking caps on and let us

know some ideas on how we can interest our puppy buyers to join. What are the Benefits of you joining our

Club? This will be discussed at the next meeting. I have noticed there have been multiple litters within our

club this year, and no one joined their puppy buyers as associates. Did you mention to your buyers there is a

Dalmatian Association of Queensland Inc.? Maybe you can put a membership form in your puppy packs and

encourage them to join. This is one way for us to get our club out there and further create a Dally loving

community, who have access to lots of information about their Dalmatian.

See you all at the Meeting on the 24th November and DAQ Christmas Dinner on the 28th November.

Natasha

Neuter Point Score Rules. Julie presented the following proposed Rules:

DAQ Neuter Point Score

All Financial Members of the DAQ are eligible to compete in the Neuter Point Score. Up to six of the best results won at Championship Shows for the 1st January until 31st December will count for this competition. All shows to be counted must be held within Queensland.

The “Six Best Show Results” and including Neuter Title Points and any Neuter in Group and Neuter in Show Awards must be forwarded to the Point Score Keeper by the 14th February. Progressive results may be sent before hand or all at once. The provisional winner for each category will be published in the following issue of the Dally Digest. If there are no discrepancies or correspondence received from other competitors regarding these results—the nominated winners will stand. To be eligible as a competitor, all Rules pertaining to the competition must be complied with. However, it is not necessary to have competed in 6 shows to be eligible for a trophy, only that all best results up to a total of 6 be submitted.

Awards for the Competition are:- Best Neuter Dog 2. Best Neuter Bitch. Best Neuter Dog (1) / Bitch (2)

The only points for (1) Best Neuter Dog and (2) Best Neuter Bitch are the Neuter Title Points awarded to each exhibit at each show submitted for the award. There is no accumulation of points from Neuter in Group/ Neuter in Show unless required due to tied results.

Count Back System In the case of a tied score at the end of the year, from the 6 shows submitted by 2 or more (1)best Neuter Dog or (2) Best Neuter Bitch, a further accumulation of points will be made on the basis of 1 point for each Best Neuter in Group and 1 point for Best Neuter in Show (Max 2 points additional for each show). Neuter will be added to the DAQ Point Score, with the above rules from the 1st January 2016. The First Point Score Show, for Neuter inclusion is 30th January 2016- Beenleigh Kennel Club. Extra Meeting Dates 2016- The AGM is usually our first meeting for the year and since we had to move it to a later date than usual for 2016 due to judges exams being held at Durack during our usual dates. AGM Tuesday 1st March 2016, we are having an extra meeting during the January Point Score show, Saturday the 30th January, after Dallies have shown, before group. Other 2016 Meeting dates to be dis-cussed at the November 24th 2016 meeting.

2015 National FB Page – Propose to ask NSW if they would like to take it over for the 2018 National as it already has a fan base which would be a shame to loose. Natasha to con-tact the DcONSW to see if they would like to take over the page and Samantha to research how to change name etc in anticipation of them taking it over.

A Club and Breed education day.

To help increase our memberships, it has been suggested for a while that we have a fun day somewhere for the club. Questions were raised how do we go about insurance for NON DQ and DAQ members who attend. Are we covered by DQ insurances on DQ grounds and Off Durack grounds?

Clubs can hold fun days at Durack on the 8th may 2016 and 13th November 2016. This was discussed at length. Natasha to Contact DQ and ask about insurances for events on and off DQ grounds, organised by an affiliate, and how we go about insurances so we are covered.

Club Passwords: It was discussed that club passwords for websites, Facebook, etc (excluding banking passwords which are assigned individually) need to all be available to the executive committee, and the relevant committee member for the password. Natasha to create a data sheet of passwords to distribute to the Executive committee.

Breed Brochures - DQ are updating all their Breed brochures and have requested photographs of our breed for this updated brochure. Natasha to contact DQ re clarification on what type of photographs they require, eg stacked show shots or candid, head? How many pictures? Who is the target audience?

Next Meeting: 24th November, 7pm, Durack meeting Rooms.

Meeting Closed: 8:54pm

DAQ Meeting Minutes Continued.

Happy Story Report:

We are such happy parents to Oscar, thank to your intervention.

When our dear eight year old Domino succumbed to an unusual

medical condition, our world fell apart. For a few weeks we were just

miserable and then, after contacting you we talked with Mel and Paul.

They brought Oscar to our home and it was love at first sight.

Of course he has had his moments, he had to prove himself in the dog

park across from our home, he got a packet of liquorice that I dropped

from the shopping and ate 375

grams before I noticed that it

had been dropped, and he is

obsessive about balls.

These photos show how the wet chewed balls are frequently in his

mouth. He is such a happy dog, enjoying his morning run, and going

full on throughout the day. We can’t thank you enough for bringing

him into our lives.

Show Secretary and Trophy Stewards Report

What a fabulous time was had by all at our September Open Show. We had over 30 entries into this event.

This was an awesome entry considering it was not held in conjunction with our Championship show,

which was the National.

We would like to thank our Judge Mrs Ellen Nan-Kivell (QLD), our Steward/Writer Mrs Vicki Yates and our Show

Manager Carolyn Perin for attending. We would also like to thank the DAQ Committee for all your help on the

day from setting up to catering the event. With our the help of our volunteers we would not be able to run

events such as this.

See the photos of the winners in this edition of the Dally Digest.

Our Trophy Table for the Open Show:

We had some things left over from the National prize pool and also

some donated items. Thank you to Paul, Katherine and the team at

Pauls Tyres, Jimboomba. Aussie Pooch Mobile, Vets all Natural,

Houndhouse, Earthborn, Ezydog and Tuff Dog coats.

For a $5 entry the prize pool was amazing.

Please support those who support us.

We also awarded the 2013 and the 2014 Point Score Ribbons on this day.

The 2013 had not previously been awarded because most categories had ties and we needed to do a count back,

one class even had a 5 way tie. Due to hosting the National this was held back to our open show to distribute

these. They are worth the wait because we managed to find a new ribbon

supplier and we were able to have the dogs names printed on the point score

rosettes. To those of you that were not in attendance, we will post your point

score rosettes to you soon.

We are in the process of submitting the Schedules for our 2016 Champ and

Open Shows. The Show will be held on Saturday the 11th June 2016.

Championship Show, Judge Mr R Toulson (Ireland) will commence at 9:30am

and the Open Show, Judge Mrs J Baker (QLD), Will commence after the

Champ Show, Not before 1pm.

Treasurers Report

Another year is nearly passed and I am happy to report that the finances of the DAQ are still in a good, stable position.

I think all the income and expenditures from the National Show have finally come through the accounts and surprisingly we have made a $285.06 surplus in 2015 plus the $6 surplus for in preparation for this show in

2014 for a total surplus of $291.06 for the National Show.

Congratulations to all the members, exhibitors, sponsors and committee who made this possible.

The DAQ is a not for profit organisation so our aim is to break even on events. As you can see the entry fees only accounted for about 1/3 of the income and so a tremendous effort was made to cover the other costs

and to obtain donation of many of the wonderful prizes.

The DAQ goes into 2016 with no need for extra fundraising to maintain healthy finances and so members and

committee can take a well earned rest after the very busy 12 months prior to the National Show.

Regards Julie Beeby

POINTSCORE KEEPER REPORT

Dear Members

At the last DAQ meeting the rules for a new Neuter Pointscore for members of the DAQ were approved. The new pointscore will be run each calendar year and results from all shows in Queensland are eligible. The pointscore is based on the most Breed Neuter Title points obtained by the entry at their six most successful shows. In case of a tie in Breed Neuter Title points awarded over the six shows, one point each for Neuter in Group and Neuter in Show will be counted at those six shows to break the tie. The full rules will be available on the DAQ web site soon and will be published in the Dally Digest when room permits.

Don’t forget that we run a pointscore for Country members outside of Brisbane, and a pointscore for Open Shows in Brisbane. Remember to keep the results of your show results for submission at the end of the year. The City Pointscore has one more show to go (November) and it is still a race to the end. The current leaders in the pointscore is given below. Dalmatian of the Year Ch Varewell Crystal Bloom – 24 points

Ch Lotzadotz Aphancy Brand – 20 points

Paceaway Give Me More – 8 points

Lotzadotz Golden Girl – 4 points

Puppy of the Year Lotzadotz Golden Girl – 5 points

Paceaway Give Me More – 3 points

Lotzadotz Dropsov Jupiter – 3 points

Baby Puppy of the Year Paceaway Wicked Wingz – 6 points

Brewen FireBomb – 5 points

Lotzadotz Golden Girl – 4 points

Lotzadotz Aperfekt Optimist – 4 points

Good luck to all!

Julie Beeby.
