Tú Commands
• Affirmative• Third person singular form
for present tense.• 8 irregular one syllable
commands (ten, pon, sal, di, ven etc….)
• Attach pronouns-accents over 2nd to last syllable in original command!
• No accent on one syllable commands with one pronoun attached (hazlo)
• Negative
• Yo form present tense
• Drop “o”
• Add opposite endings -as (er/ir) or –es (ar)
• Pronouns get placed BEFORE command
• No accents unless there is an accent over the command (ej: no estés)

What is the Subjunctive?

How to conjugate regular subjunctive
1. Start with “_____” form of present tense

Stem Changing Subjunctive
• All –ar and –er stem changing verbs follow the shoe verb conjugation pattern in the subjunctive.
• No stem change in nosotros and vosotros
• -oue, eie

Using the Subjunctive with Impersonal Expressions
• Main clause- impersonal expression (Es…)• Es necesario que ella estudie mucho.
– It is necessary that she studies a lot.
• Es importante que nosotros vengamos a la fiesta.– It is important that we come to the party.
• Es triste que el muchacho no tenga amigos.– It is sad that the boy has no friends.
