Extremely rapid and smali installations generally go without a war room. Large

and complex installations alrrtost always have a war room. The war room should

have plenty of wall space so that charts can be hung on the walls. It should be

equipped with networked PCs, tables, shelving for documentation and flip

charts. Laptop links should be available so that consultants can link their

equipment into the network.

This room will serve as the nerve centre for the project. This room should not be

abandoned after the implementation is over.

It can serve as an operations room for continuous improvement teams and also

as a training venue for new recruits, those wishing to upgrade their skills or

those wishing to test out refinements to process.

Once the project is under way the plan can be updated on a regular basis and the
