Parent Reminders Parents, please note the following: If your child’s dismissal plans change, please send a note to the classroom teacher in the morning. Please contact the office before 2:00 pm if there is a last minute change in dismissal. If your child needs to be picked up during the school day, he or she will not be called to the office until a parent or guardian arrives. Please note, the drop off time for students in the morning should not be before 8:25 am. Adult supervision begins at 8:25 am. If dropping a lunch off for your child, please have the bag or box clearly labeled with your child’s name.
April 7, 2015 Consolidated General Election - Four terms on our seven-member Board of Education will expire in April 2015 – those of Mr. Terry McKeown, Ms. Tamara Peterson, Mrs. Susan Lancaster, and Mrs. Linda Wojcicki.
With the passage of HB 2418, the Board secretary is no longer responsible for School Board elections. Therefore, nominating petitions must be filed with the Election Authority (DuPage County Election Commission). Filing materials may be accessed via their website: www.dupageco.org/election/.
The first day that prospective candidates may circulate nominating petitions for signatures is September 23, 2014.

FAMILY PUMPKIN NIGHT...was a big success! Thank you to all of you who volunteered your time to set up or work the event! The numerous baked goods for our cake walk were so creative and delicious! It’s your help that makes these events so successful!

HALLOWEENPARADE & ROOM PARTY
The Halloween Parade and Room Parties are scheduled for Friday, October 31st. Any student attending Erickson Elementary School is able to participate in this event. All family members are welcome to attend the parade at approximately 1:00 pm (the parade route will travel outside the building). Due to safety & security, the number of parents able to attend the classroom party will be limited to six (6) individuals. If you are interested in volunteering for the Halloween Room Party, please contact the head room parent for your child’s classroom (see list below). If you do not have the contact info for the room parent, please contact Charlotte Alongi: [email protected]. Thank you for understanding that the safety and security of the students at Erickson Elementary is our number one priority.

THANKSGIVING FEAST BOOK DRIVE 2014
Erickson students will once again collect ‘’new and gently used” books for their fellow students at Indian Reservation schools. The book drive will
begin on Monday November 3rd and run through November 17th, Thanksgiving Feast Day!!!!! We will be collecting reading material for pre-K
through 8th grade. Please make sure that donated books are in good condition and child appropriate. In past years, our students have collected
and distributed thousands of books to Indian Reservation schools throughout the country.
We thank you for your participation and enthusiastic response to this project!!

Thanksgiving Feast November 17th
Dear Parents, The Erickson PTO Thanksgiving Feast is scheduled for November 17th. The involvement of school children, teachers, administration, local businesses, and parents all play an important role in making this event a success. We are asking for your support to keep our Thanksgiving Feast a success.
