Second-generation logger, Jack Erickson, founded
the company in 1971, leased the first S-64 Aircrane
in 1972, and successfully broadened the company’s
timber harvesting capabilities.
With the purchase of more Aircranes, and the eventual
acquisition of the S-64 Type Certificate, he also
revolutionized the fire-fighting business. During the
past decade, investors purchased the original company,

as well as acquired Evergreen Helicopters and Air
Amazonia, with the mission to build a diversified
global aerial services company. Erickson leadership is
comprised of aviation industry professionals who have
served other successful international companies. In
addition to a auspicious history and inspired leadership,
we are proud to claim that we have the best crews and
pilots in the industry.

FIREFIGHTING
Erickson’s expert pilots and fleet of specially
equipped Aircranes are deployed seasonally to
wildland fire hotspots around the world. We are at
the ready when forest fires erupt in Greece, Turkey,
Australia, Italy, Canada, and the United States.
Aircranes, armed with 2,650-gallon (10,031-liter)
water tanks, combine the capacity of a fixed-
wing tanker with the accuracy and refill speed
of a helicopter. These Helitankers can drop more
than 25,000 gallons (~95,000 liters) every hour.

Our ram scoop hydrofoil attachment refills from
freshwater or saltwater sources in as little as 30
seconds, and the original “Hover Snorkel” design
refills within 45 seconds from freshwater sources as
shallow as 18 inches (46 centimeters). Once the fire
has been extinguished, the Helitanker can deliver
stabilizing hydroseed to jump-start re-vegetation
and prevent erosion. Erickson’s Hydroseed opera-
tions are particularly effective on steep slopes and
inaccessible areas.

TIMBER HARVESTING
Helicopter timber harvesting with the S-64 is a cost-effective method of harvesting
wood, a natural renewable resource. Timber is lifted vertically and flown rather than
skidded across the forest floor. The benefits of this state-of-the-art forest practice
include far less damage to adjacent stands of trees, soil and riparian areas resulting
in a healthier forest environment. In addition, timber harvesting by helicopter
saves substantial costs by minimizing the need for road construction, thus reducing
the cost of falling, loading and hauling the timber.

ENERGY CONSTRUC TION
The precision of our aircraft, the skill of our pilots and
crew, and our experience in the energy industry make
Erickson the world leader in aerial heavy-lift operations
that support power transmission and infrastructure
projects. Our signature Aircrane has a rated lift
capacity of up to 25,000 pounds (11,340 kilograms)
and a unique aft-facing pilot station that allows us to
develop a transmission line construction system that
is cost-competitive with conventional methods.
This system offers major benefits to contractors:
• Strategically located—Our central assembly yards
minimize labor travel time and other inefficiencies and
allow foremen to closely supervise tower assembly.
• Precise tower erection scheduling—We have the
flexibility to change course at a moment’s notice.
• Speed—We’re able to set towers in place quickly.
• Access—We can deliver to remote and mountainous
terrain which is inaccessible to ground-based vehicles.
• Cost—Our bids are often surprisingly cost efficient.

HVAC
The Aircrane is uniquely designed to aid in delivery and
installation of heavy-weight ventilation and air condi-
tioning units onto hard-to-reach roof tops, and we’re
particularly adept at installing commercial HVAC units
atop city high rises. The precision capabilities of the
Aircrane, combined with the skill and experience of our
pilots and crew, has led to the placement of more than
40,000 HVAC units onto skyscrapers, automobile plants,
and aviation hangars across North America and Europe.
Erickson has been extremely successful in the HVAC
aerial heavy-lift arena. It is not uncommon on properly
planned jobs for our crews to place more than 100 roof-
top units in one day.
SPECIALT Y
Erickson’s more unique short-term projects include removing
and reinstalling the Statue of Freedom on top of the United
States Capitol dome, rescuing an endangered rhino from
the jungles of Borneo, moving snow to the Vancouver, B.C.
Olympic grounds, and performing the Sierra Nevada Corporation’s
Dream Chaser program’s first captive carry and test release
flight. No matter the kind of heavy-lift task needed, Erickson
can design a comprehensive plan to get the job done safely
and quickly, while minimizing operating cost.

GLOBAL RE ACH
Brazil. Ecuador. Peru. Indonesia. Alaska, far from
civilization. Erickson provides lift services for
people, drill rigs or production platform
components over thick jungles, steep mountains
and surging seas. With global demand for oil and
gas continuing to grow, we are steadily establishing
ourselves as a premier provider of comprehensive
industry support services.
AIRCRAF T DIVERSIT Y
Our diverse fleet ranges from light single-engine to
large twin-engine, multi-role helicopters. Erickson’s
record of safe, efficient and effective global aviation
Erickson has the experience, global reach, aircraft flexibility, on-time
performance, proven reliability and an insider’s knowledge of the tools
and logistics of energy extraction. We started our Oil and Gas Operations
in Peru in 1998, and with the acquisition of Air Amazonia in 2013, we have
successfully expanded our ability to provide comprehensive oil and gas
aviation services to our new and existing customers in South America.
Brazil is forecasted to be the world’s largest oil and gas growth market,
and our aviation services will continue to expand there, as well as in
other emerging global locations.
services ensures that we will meet and exceed all project
needs and expectations.
ENVIRONMENT
At Erickson, we are committed to performing operations in
an eco-friendly nature and reducing or eliminating negative
impact on the environment. Our oil and gas operations
are designed to meet the challenges of making resource
exploration and production compatible with conservation
and sustainability. To minimize impact on the rainforest and
its ecosystem, we often manage remote area operations
without access roads or runways.
