The resulting image should be bold, attractive, and definitely not fussy. Participants will work with big brushes and a limited palette that will still offer a full range of skin tones. There will be an emphasis on demos in the mornings, but participants will have plenty of time to put what they’re learning into practice in the afternoons. Fee Includes: Artist instruction, indoor painting space, lunch and refreshments both days Eric Johnson lives in Nonesuch, near Versailles, in Woodford County, Kentucky. Eric has his own gallery and studio at 120 North Main Street in Versailles, as well as a studio at the Artists’ Attic cooperative in Lexington. Along with his landscape and figure work, Eric also paints portraits on commission. His portraits hang in private and public collections, including four portraits of Deans for the Eric Johnson Portrait Sketch in Oil March 8 & March 9 / $225 U.K. Medical Center. Eric trained in illustration at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California, and has completed illustrations, through his representative in Atlanta, for such clients as Coca-Cola, McDonald’s, and Turner Broadcasting. He has also been the official poster artist for the U.S. Opens played at the famous Pinehurst No. 2 golf course in Pinehurst, NC, first in 1999 and again in 2005. He has recently completed a poster image for the 2014 Open, also scheduled at Pinehurst. As a watercolorist, Eric has studied extensively with Tony Couch, and has earned signature-member status with the Kentucky Watercolor Society.
