LIFE OF ERİC CARLE

• Eric Carle was born in 25th of june,1929,in New York.But he is from Germany.He moved to Germany in 1930 because his mother was homesick.His father joined in the German Army.He suffered in Germany because of war.Then he returned back to U.S.A in 1952 with no money.He became graphic designer in America.In Korean War he joined in the army ,after war he came back to America and became the art director of an advertising agency.

• He says: “With many of my books I attempt to bridge the gap between the home and school. To me home represents, or should represent; warmth, security, toys, holding hands, being held. School is a strange and new place for a child. Will it be a happy place?

DRAGONS & DRAGONSIn the book there are beautiful illustrations and it has interesting subject matter. It's a collection of poems about mythical creatures, such as, a Yeti, Minotaur, Unicorn, Pan, Mermaid, Chinese Dragon, and many more. Some of the poems are written by famous poets and writes, like John Gardner, and Sir Richard Burton. Children can learn so much from this book. Although many kids are familiar with unicorns and dragons, few are savvy to Pan from Greek mythology, or Anansi, the spider creature of African and Caribbean folklore.
