My name is Davin Peterson, and I am the Vice President of our Western Agriculture region, which includes our agriculture locations in Arizona, California, Oregon, and Washington. I’ve worked at RDO Equipment Co. for more than 20 years – I actually started out sweeping the floors in one of our Northwest locations. Throughout my time here, I’ve had roles in the parts department and management, including my most recent role as General Manager of our five Northwest locations.

What I’ve come to realize about working for this company is our unwavering commitment to

Acreage ReportingEach year you are required to report your planted acres to both crop insurance and to your local FSA office. The process is often made more difficult than it needs to be. Here are some questions you should ask yourself:1. Does my agent provide an updated copy of my FSA maps to me?2. Does my agent offer to submit my maps and acres to my local FSA office on

my behalf?3. Do I spend too much time reporting acres to the FSA office, or do I simply stop and

sign once they have prepared my 578s?4. Can my agent provide customized mapping information by crop for my entire farm? We know farmers like to stick to what they do best… planting and caring for their crops. We want to make the reporting process as simple and accurate as possible. Acres should always be cross-referenced against FSA 578 information to ensure accuracy.

New JD MappingJohn Deere has made a significant investment in their mapping program starting in 2013. This better supports crop insurance integration with their precision products and helps producers meet the requirements for FSA reporting with little more work. A certified JD crop agent can use this new tool to help you in the following ways:1. Download all planted acres onto high resolution maps2. Provide detailed farm reports that include all necessary FSA information to report acres3. Accuracy is greatly increased (overlap is eliminated)4. Save the farmer time…
