Inspiration of the Sagrada Familia

• Josep Maria Bocabella, founder of “Spiritual Association of Devotees of St. Joseph”

<< Francisco de Paula del Villar Whose plan was for a Gothic revival church.

Antonio Gaudi>> Took over in 1883 and assumed responsibility

• 1926- Passing of Gaudi• 1936- Construction continued until the Spanish Civil

War • 1940- Construction continued• 1980s- Computer was introduced to help in the

designing

Sagrada Familia’s roof was still under construction in 2009

The building is old but it has a lot of deep meaning to it.

A lot of thought process was put in into the design of this church.

Every detail constructed in the Sagrada Familia has a purpose and a meaning to why it was constructed in a certain direction or a certain way.
