Refuse – Contract Renewal

In 2015 the City re-negotiated a five year contract with Champlin Refuse Inc. (CRI) for refuse collection. Using a market survey and current trends the City was able to reduce the cost for refuse collection over the term of the contract. The City Council passed this contract savings on to the consumer in the form of reduced refuse rates for 2016.

Residential Rates

2014/2015 Rate

2016 Rate

Large Cart (Approx. 90 Gallons)

$17.48 $16.25

Medium Cart (Approx. 60 Gallons)

Small Cart (Approx. 30 Gallons)

$14.01 $10.54

$12.75 $9.25

Note: Refuse rates cover the cost of refuse collection, disposal, yard waste, billing, etc. The CRI collection contract is a piece of this cost.
