Environmental Biotechnology Research Laboratory
Environmental Biotechnology Consulting and Engineering Solutions (GAMEP Authorized) Environmental biotechnology is the multidisciplinary integration of sciences and engineering in order to utilize the huge biochemical potential of microorganisms and bio materials for the restoration and treatment and impact mitigation of the environment and for the sustainable use of resources. The mission 2030 emphasized on sustainable resources uses and development. The mission of Environmental Biotechnology research Lab is to contribute to this challenging global task by developing technology to preserve the sustainability of water resources. The Lap is part of the Integrated Environmental Solutions and Consultancy Center established in 2020 by Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University and authorized by the regulatory environmental authorized body in Saudi Arabia – General Authority of Meteorology and Environmental protection (GAMEP).
THE MAIN GOAL IS TO: Establish innovative interdisciplinary research focusing on applying biotechnology for sustainable wastewater treatment and water purification.
New Brunswick Bioflo Reactors and Fermentors The BioFlo 115 is a modular fermentation system for microbial and cell culture applications. It features a modern, easy-to-use control interface, plus an available family of vessels, controller modules, and other accessories that address the diverse needs of the bio processing community. BioFlo/CelliGen 115 is a versatile fermentor / bioreactor that provides a fully equipped system in one compact package. It can be employed for batch, fed batch or continuous culture with process control for pH, dissolved oxygen (DO), agitation, temperature, pump feed, antifoam and foam/level.
HACH Lange spectrophotometer (DR 6000) latest version The UV-VIS spectrophotometer DR6000 delivers top performance for both routine laboratory tasks and demanding photometry applications. Intelligent software supports the lab manager in the calibration routine, quality assurance and development of customized application. DR6000 offers high speed wavelength scanning across the UV and Visible Spectrum, and comes with over 250 pre- programmed methods, which include the most common testing methods used today.
Microwave Reactor This reactor is design for the rapid and controlled chemical reactions using microwave heating. The device is equipped with stirrer with temperature probe. Generally utilized for the synthesis of organic and biobased compounds.
RITTER Biogas Batch Fermentation System The primary advantage of the RITTER Biogas Batch Fermentation System is the uniform tempering of the entire fermentation bottle inside the heating oven. In contrast to tempering the fermentation bottles in a water bath there will be no uncontrolled cooling of the upper part of the bottles by air and air currents. All temperature deviations can be minimized by e.g. an optional inner glass door of the heating oven for visual inspections. Automated data acquisition of gas volume and flow rate from biogas batch fermentation systems through real time data logging with Windows® software »RIGAMO«. (suitable for up to 24 RITTER Milli Gas counters). Graphical and tabular display, printing and storing of measurement data.
Tubular Furnace A tube furnace is an electric heating device used to conduct syntheses and purifications of inorganic compounds and R&D purposes. The furnace provides heating up to 1200 °C under controlled inert and oxygen flow environment.
Bio-Non composites synthesis Unit The Unit consist of fully programmed hot plate stirrer with temperature probe connected with reflux system. Ultrasonicator instrument provide effective dispersion of nanoparticles within the liquid matrix and allow homogenous dispersion when incorporated using co- precipitation and sol gel synthesis method.
BINDER vacuum drying chamber BINDER vacuum drying chamber models enable effective drying without residue or damaging the material being dried. With their proven technological features, the excellently address the strict requirements of industrial and scientific laboratories. Samples and similar materials incorporating flammable and non-flammable solvents can be dried, depending on the individual use. The chambers use a unique safety design that, together with accustomed outstanding performance, sets the bar in terms of quality and safety.
