WHAT IS ENVIRONMENT?

Environment commonly refers to the surroundings in which all living and non-living things

reside and establish a sense of attraction with one another. These include air, water, soil,

human beings, animals, etc.

NEED TO SAVE ENVIRONMENT TO SAVE EARTH:

To meet our present day needs due to increasing population levels, we have been

persistently without any check consuming the natural resources. We are not concerned for

our future generations. Thus, the need of the hour is to conserve both the renewable and

non-renewable resources, provided by nature if we really need to save mother Earth.

EFFECTS OF POLLUTION ON ENVIRONMENT

During the last few decades, water, air and land have been contaminated for achieving short

term gains at the cost of long term ecological losses to the environment. These undesirable

changes have had disastrous effects not only on plants and wildlife, but also on humans.

EDUCATING CHILDREN ABOUT “SAVE ENVIRONMENT”

Raising children in a fast-paced techno-savvy world like this can certainly be challenging.

There are so many issues to focus on – social development, education, emotional skills,

social responsibilities and so much more. And somehow somewhere down the line, we

forget about our beautiful planet and all of its voiceless vote less inhabitants.

It is the duty of the teacher to inculcate the importance of ENVIRONMENT to the children.

So the children of Grade I A, were made to water the plant, clean the garden and few tips on

save water also were given. These activities were done to develop a LOVE on nature, which

each and every individual should have.

THE AGENDA OF THIS ACTIVITY ARE LISTED BELOW:

To create awareness of biodiversity conservation and local environmental issues

among school children.

To create a 'clean and green consciousness among students through various

innovative methods.

To involve Eco Club students in open-orientation programmes in schools and public

areas. This is done by our Grade I A children.

The campaign on SAVE WATER was done by L.Dhanush, N.Hariharan, J.Sharvesh,

P.Krithik, A.R.Charan Thilak. They also held a placard in their hand they declare the

world WATER IS OUR RIGHT; ITS NOT AT ALL A COMMODITY

Jack and Jill went up the hill And found there was no water The human race must move to space It’s going to be a disaster.

S.Muthu Kumaran, who was keenly observing the campaign done by his

friends, saw a water is dripping through tap. Immediately he ran and closed

the tap tightly. HIS SMILE ADRESSED TO US THAT WATER IS PRECIOUS.

Jack said to Jill, “The waters gone, We’ve nothing left to drink, Our wasteful ways, now we must pay, We’ve let it all down the sink.

We wasted it in lots of ways, Like a bath instead of a shower, Watering the plants on sunny days, Leaving the tap on full power.

To save the world now we must act And use our water well, Change our ways, or we will pay, In this beautiful world we want to dwell. Saving water is very good, everybody should.

A ROLE PLAY of wood cutter was done by our school gardener. And the kids S.Deepaharshine and T.Varshanram beautifully acted as if they were pleading the gardener not to cut the tree.
