6.1 From operation ofequipment ventilationplant, crushers e.g.engines,

Yes Noise will be generated from the constructionequipment’s and operation of DG sets.During construction work following will be thetentative sources of noise:

Name of source Noise Level at 16m (50 ft) fromSource in db (A)

Noise level at 1m from sourcein dB (A)

Back hoe/ Loader 81 105Cranes-mobile 81 105Dump truck 83 107Generator Not considered 75 (as prescribed

by CPCB)The following measures will be taken: EPA/CPCB certified DG sets conforming to the

standards for noise will be used. All construction equipment and machineries will be

maintained in good conditions. Personal protective equipment like ear muffs, ear

plugs will be provided to the workers.Silent type DG Sets with anti vibration pads will beprovided.

6.2 From industrial orsimilar processes

No Not applicable

6.3 From construction ordemolition

Yes During construction work, there will be short termnoise impacts in the immediate vicinity of the projectsite due to various construction activities such asexcavation activities, mixing, vehicular movement andvarious construction machinery;Following precautions shall be taken to control noisepollution : High noise generating construction activities

would be carried out only during day time Installation, use and maintenance of mufflers on

equipment Workers working near high noise construction

machinery would be supplied with ear muffs/earplugs

6.4 From blasting or piling No No blasting or piling will be done.

6.5 From construction oroperational traffic

Yes There may be increase in the noise levels due toconstructional /operational traffic arising due to theproject, which will be minimized by: Effective traffic management including sufficient

width of driveways to avoid traffic congestionsespecially during the peak hours.

Encouraging the employees for car pooling and useof onsite transportation facilities.

Provisions of designated visitors parking forsmooth traffic movement near the entry/ exit points.

Effective green belt will help in reducing the noisepropagation.

6.6 From lighting or coolingsystems

No There will be change in the light pollution level of theproject area. Use of focused lights to the active areas isenvisaged. Cooling towers are proposed so there willbe some noise generation from them. Effectivemeasures shall be taken to mitigate this. During powerfailure, operation of DG set will generate noise. However, these shall be silent type with anti vibrationpads.

6.7 From any other sources No No other source is significant.

7. Risks of contamination of land or water from releases of pollutants into the ground orinto sewers, surface waters, groundwater, coastal waters or the sea:

S.No. Information/Checklistconfirmation

Yes/No Details thereof (with approximatequantities/rates, wherever possible) with sourceof information data

7.1 From handling, storage, hazardous materials useor Spillage of hazardousmaterials

Yes During construction paints, solvents, thinner, oiland lubricants will be stored for use which ishazardous to health. Suitable management practicewill be adopted for the same. The only hazardous waste is spent oil from standbyDG sets during both construction & operation. Thespent oil will be carefully stored in HDPE drumsunder isolated storage and periodically sold toauthorize recyclers. All precautions will be taken toavoid spillage from storage.

7.2 From discharge ofsewage or other effluentswater or the land(expected mode andplace of discharge) to

No There will be no discharge of untreated sewage onwater or land, as the wastewater after tertiarytreatment will be reused. Spare treated waste watershall be discharged into the municipal sewers.

7.3 By deposition ofpollutants emitted to airinto the land or intowater

No Dust will be generated during construction phasefrom earthworks and movement of vehicles.Appropriate fugitive dust control measures, including watering, water sprinkling of exposedareas and dust covers for trucks, will be provided

to minimize any impacts.DG stack height shall be provided as perCPCB guidelines.

7.4 From any other sources No Not applicable

7.5 Is there a risk of longterm build up ofpollutants in theenvironment from thesesources?

No There is no risk of long term build up of pollutantsin the environment from handling, storage, use orspillage of hazardous materials, discharge ofsewage or other effluents to water or the land andby deposition of pollutants emitted to air into theland or into water sources.

8. Risk of accidents during construction or operation of the Project, which could affecthuman health or the environment

S.No. Information/Checklistconfirmation

Yes/NoDetails thereof (with approximatequantities/rates, wherever possible) with sourceof information data

8.1 From explosions, spillages, fires etc fromstorage, handling, use orproduction of hazardoussubstances

This is basically a construction project and does notinvolve major hazardous construction activity.Hence, chances of explosions, spillages, fires areminimal. All construction workers will be provided withsuitable personal protective equipment (PPE) as perthe health & safety norms. Training and awarenessabout the safety norms will be provided to allsupervisors and workers involved in constructionactivities.

An agreement will be signed with the contractor, which will clearly deal safety aspects duringconstruction. No major hazardous waste is beingstored with in the project site. No industrial orprocess activity is involved in this project hencechances of chemical hazards and accidents areminimal. However, suitable fire-fighting measureswill be provided.

8.2 From any other causes Yes The major risks involved in the project would beworking at different construction heights andmishaps due to human errors, bad constructionpractices and associated electric hazards. All safety measures will be in place prior tocommencement of operations so as to avoid any riskof human life and as per the prevailing local bylaws. All safe construction practices & precautionary

measures will be adopted and use of PPE will bemandatory.

First-aid measures will be provided at site. Adequate fire-fighting arrangements will be as

per National Building Code - 2005 & conditionslaid in fire NOC.

All applicable IS standards for electricity will befollowed in construction phase.

Indian Electricity Act of 1910 and rules issued thereunder revised up to date will be followed.

8.3 Could the project beaffected by naturaldisasters causingenvironmental damage(e.g. floods, earthquakes, landslides, cloudburstetc)?

No As per the secondary data available no suchprecedents has been reported. However thepossibility of such incidents cannot be ruled out.Earthquakes:The project falls under seismic Zone IV. Design andarchitecture of building is earthquake resistant andcomply with the required IS SpecificationsSuitable seismic coefficients in horizontal andvertical directions respectively, are being adoptedwhile designing the structures to minimize theimpact of any disaster.Landslide: Area is not land slide proneFloods:The area is not flood prone. For effectivefunctioning, pre-monsoon and post-monsoon checksof the drainage structures will be undertaken. The project has planned storm water layout inregards to the peak intensity of the rainfall so farreceived as recorded by IMD.
