Chitkara University was established in the year 2008 by the Himachal Pradesh State Legislature under the "Chitkara University Act". Chitkara University is a government recognized University with the right to confer degrees as per the sections 2f and 22(1) of the UGC Act, 1956 and is included in the list of universities maintained by the University Grants Commission. Our 17 acres campus located at Atal Shiksha Kunj in Barotiwala is 32 kms from Chandigarh and 12 kms from Pinjore. It currently has more than 4000 full time students and over 500 faculty.

B. TECH (LATERAL ENTRY)-2016The Lateral Entry program enables candidates with a 3-Year diploma in Engineering or an equivalent degree to get admitted directly to 2nd Year (3rd semester).

= Computer Science & Engineering= Electronics & Communication Engineering = Civil Engineering

Duration: 3-Year as candidates are admitted directly to 2nd year

Eligibility Criteria: 3-Year Diploma in Engineering granted by the Board of Technical Examination of a State Government / UGC recognised University with minimum 60% aggregate at the end of 3-Year program.ORPassed B.Sc Degree from a recognized University with atleast 50% marks and passed Xll standard with Mathematics as a subject.
