The emergence of women entrepreneurs and their

contribution to the national economy is quitevisible in India. The number of womenentrepreneurs has grown over a period of time, especially in the 1990s. Women entrepreneursneed to be lauded for their increased utilizationof modern technology, increased investments, finding a niche in the export market, creatinga sizable employment for others and setting thetrend for other women entrepreneurs in the

organized sector. While women entrepreneurshave demonstrated their potential, the factremains that they are capable of contributingmuch more than what they already are.

The economic empowerment of women is beingregarded these days as a progress for a country;hence, the issue of economic empowerment of womenis of paramount importance to political thinkers, socialscientists and reformers.
