Vision: Knowledge Worker 2.0

• In the past: We expected precise information processing according to rules from employees, we expect now autonom participation in the process

• Only aim to work in companies instead of group of freelancers: optimise the cost of communication and info transaction between people.

• If your company does work only according rules and order like the army, you do not need this.

Concepts of E2 applications

• Do not think, your users still do not Web2 tools; they do it on the Web!

• Users find their tools to manage their tasks. Especially the younger generation.

• Most companies do not hesitate to devote efforts to block them in this usage. (like. Skype, MSN, gmail, voting tools, etc.)

• Some other companies build up their own E2 tools; it provides the expected security and even the efficiency. (DB wiki project 1M EUR)

• In the past: the key driving forces of a company were the individualists in the past; they concentrated the most valuable information.

• Today: The key of the success is the group efficiency; those, sharing the information are valuable and will be rewarded, and those keeping the information will be punished;

• Corporate information management will be more transparent and open.

There is history of the discussion and changing opinions.• You can attach background documents to the decision poller.• Finally: there is a documented decision with all background information collected to one place instead of storing it in distributed emails.

• QSI is an intranet portal product based on the Qualysofts „contactbay – social engine” – java portal.
