BPP University’s School of Foundation and English Language Studies offers English language courses to students whose first language is not English.

If you want to improve your level of English or build your confidence in English before you start your studies, our courses offer you the opportunity to do so.

Our state-of-the art study centre is conveniently located in Shepherd’s Bush in central London with excellent transport links.

The overground rail station, Shepherd’s Bush bus station, and London Underground Central and Hammersmith & City lines all converge at Westfield Retail Park, which holds over 700 fashion stores, 300 places to eat, and is a five minute walk from our study centre. Students who require 0.5 IELTS increase in order to meet the IELTS entry requirements for a BPP programme. Students need to hold a conditional offer for one of BPP’s academic programmes.

Who is it for?

Students who wish to improve their general English skills for work, study or social purposes.

Benefits to you

- Starting from elementary English (equivalent to CEFR A2**) to intermediate English (equivalent to CEFR B1***)- Study for up to four terms- Receive a certificate stating the level of English achieved - Improve your knowledge and confidence in English for

professional, academic and social purposes

BPP School of Foundation and English Language Studies offers English language support programmes to students whose first language is not English.

If you don’t have the necessary qualifications for the programme of your choice or you want to build your confidence before you start your studies, our pathway programmes offer the opportunity to improve your English language skills and gain the necessary study skills to provide a ‘bridge’ to your Degree course.

All of our full-time programmes meet UKBA visa regulations to apply for a student visa.

Visa & Immigration

BPP University has degree awarding powers and the UK Border Agency (UKBA) Highly Trusted Sponsor Status. All of our full-time programmes meet UKBA visa regulations to apply for a student visa. Full-time students can work part-time while completing their studies.

General English course

Students with an IELTS 4.0 or equivalent need to register for three Levels to be eligible for a Tier 4 visa otherwise they will have to apply for a Student Visitor visa. Academic English

Students registering for any level are eligible for a Tier 4 visa provided they exit at a minimum of CEFR B2.

The International Foundation Certificate embeds a wide range of modules, which put you in a better position to undertake any undergraduate degree.
