What are VERBS?Verbs are words that

show action.

What are VERBS?An action verb is a word that shows what someone or something (a noun) is

doing.

The roof of the house leaks.

1. Find the nounsThe roof of the house leaks.

2. Is the roof or house doing anything?

The roof is LEAKING.

Therefore-

LEAKS is the action the roof is doing.

LEAKS is a VERB showing action.

The little pig grunts.

1. Find the nounsThe little pig grunts.

2. Is the pig doing anything?

The pig is grunting.

Therefore-

GRUNTS is the action the pig is doing.

GRUNTS is a VERB showing action.

Recall-A noun is a person.Girls are people.Girls is a noun.

A noun is a place.Street is a place.Street is a noun.
