New Generation Uncooled M8 Cylinder Pressure Sensor Type 6045B.

In the course of developing Type 6045B, the linearity error was lowered from ≤±0,4 % FSO to ≤±0,3 % compared to Type 6045A. The thermal shock error ∆IMEP was reduced from ≤±1,5 % to ≤±1,0 % while still maintaining the pressure range (250 bar). Optimized assembly processes ensure in a more sta-ble thermal shock.

The change in sensitivity over the temperature range was brought to an even lower level and is for the Type 6045B now only ≤±1 %.

New material combinations result in that improvement. A modi-fi ed crystal package with an improved pressure-resistant design is able to withstand higher pressure peaks (pre-ignition).

The B version of the pressure sensor 6045 with its M8x0.75 mounting thread is completely compatible with the A version, making it suitable for indicating measurements with the highest accuracy requirements under high load.

The new uncooled M8 precision – cylinder pressure sensor Type 6045B is a comprehensive further development of the proven Type 6045A. Minimization of the sensitivity variation over the temperature range, a small thermal shock error and a low linearity deviation were in the special focus of develop-ment.

The new generation of the piezoresistive SCP amplifi er, Type 4665B… with automatic sensor identifi cation, PiezoSmart®, ensures maximum accuracy, traceability and fl exibility.

The two-channel microprocessor-controlled amplifi er module is used for signal amplifi cation of digital or analogue temperature compensated piezoresistive pressure sensors. It is typically used for measuring highly dynamic injection, intake and exhaust manifold pressures in combustion engines and for other applications requiring the measurement of absolute pressures. The plug-in amplifi er module is available in two types, providing compatibility with all SCP platforms and future compatibility with the Kistler KiBox.

The following features enable advanced and effi cient operation.

• Compatible with all piezoresistive pressure sensors from Kistler• Analogue signal output for pressure and temperature• Digital signal output for temperature via CAN-BUS• New semi-automatic operation for absolute pressure adjustment • Recording of sensor working time, triggered synchronously by charge ampli-

fi er Type 5064C... or by a digital trigger signal• Additional low pass fi lter options

New Piezoresistive Amplifi er with Extended Functionalities.

Type 6613CG1

New: Sensors with Marine Type Approvals for Large Engines.Large engines are used in a wide range of applications and have to fulfi ll international safety standards for marine and stationary installations. In response to increasingly stringent legislation for safety and energy effi ciency, in 2013 Kistler introduced a new generation of cylinder pressure sensors Types 6613CG and 7614CG, which were designed in accordance with these standards.

The sensors are available with Marine Type Approval from major international classifi ca-tion societies such as Lloyd’s Register, Bureau Veritas, DNV, GL and ABS. This was a signifi -cant step to enter the Marine market and towards becoming the preferred supplier for leading marine engines manufacturers.

In order to meet international safety standards for stationary application in hazardous envi-ronments, where explosive gases, vapor and dust are present, these sensors were also approved by ATEX.

Type 6613CG2 is designed for 2-stroke engines and Types 6613CG1/7614CG1 for 4-stroke engines. These two new sensors are particularly suitable for the monitoring and closed loop combustion control of large gas, diesel and dual fuel engines.

They also improve the quality of predictive maintenance for marine and stationary engines. The main features of both sensors are the improved durable measuring element and new charge amplifi er. With a galvanic isolated 4 … 20 mA output signal the amplifi er is designed for rough industrial environments.

For the fi rst time, with the new software release KiBox Cockpit V2.0 is now available with a powerful test-bed-interface. In addi-tion to existing interfaces such as high-speed CAN and connection via standard MCD tools, this new type of bidirectional test-bed com-munication gives the user comfortable control of the KiBox from the higher-level automation system.

The modular architecture of this test-bed driver can run the ASCII protocol on both, the RS232 and Ethernet interfaces. This results in a maximum compatibility with old test-bed sys-tems as well as maximum data throughput for modern automation systems. Furthermore, Kistler’s own remote API, which is fully dis-closed for customers, is now complemented by a powerful client / server component. Exam-ples of C# code help programmers to integrate the KiBox directly into their own applications.

A new ‘candlestick’ chart type for statistical evaluation of steady-state engine operating points and an improved real-time heat release calculation, round off the list of new features.

For our KiBox customers the software pack-age is free of charge.

Overview of the new features:

• Test-bed interface (RS232 / Ethernet)• Client/Server component for KiBox

Cockpit Remote-API interface• Statistic bar-chart (candlestick)• Improved heat-release calculator
