Roads – In 2009 we started the construction of a road between Lubumbashi and Mitwaba, the mitwaba road had not been rehabilitated in 25 years and it was very difficult for travellers who would take between 72 hours and a month too reach Mitwaba. Prices of basic commodities were also inflated, for example a 50kg bag of sugar would cost as much as US$150. Now prices have gone down by 40% and communication line
Background
Bridges- the bridges in all the areas have aided in the integration and unificaton of communities in Malembankulu, Mitwaba and Kalemie-Nyuzu routes which have been started and completed between 2009 and 2011 with one still pending.
A marked reduction in the occurance of acccidents along this route has also been realised since the installation of solar street lights along the Lubumbasi-Likasi route.
Background
The electrification of Rupango rural and bringing light to a community once steeped in darkness has gone a long way in extending the day in the community of Rupango.
The 5KVA hydro-electricity power plant will serve the immediate community members of Rupango. With the advent of electricity in Rupango, the community has entered a new era of development.
