Physics Lab Safety
In order to participate in labs you are required to pass a lab safety exam with at least an 80%
Some of the lab safety rules and procedures that you learn may not be used in this class
• Follow all instructions carefully. Ask if you do not understand.
• Follow all the written instructions. I may not go over all of them with you as a group. Sometimes it is helpful to read through the entire lab first.
• Only perform written experiments unless instructed differently.
Before you ask for help:1. Read directions.2. Discuss as a group.
•Do not touch anything that is set up in the lab unless you have permission
This lab is used for more than one class.
•No food, drinks, or electronics are allowed in the lab unless it is included in the instructions.
•Stay with the group you are assigned
•Report any accidents or spills immediately.
Beaker – as a container, 100ml-500ml
Graduated cylinder- to measure volume, 10ml -100 ml, small divisions
Erlenmeyer flask- to heat or contain
Test tube- several uses
Ring stand- for support
