Dear Parents End of Year Activities have been programmed for Students in Years 7, 8, 9 and 10.
Date: Week 9 and 10 Friday, 11th December – Wednesday, 16 December
This year the organisation of EOYA has been changed from previous years due to Covid-19 restrictions. Students will complete activities organised by the school in the morning session and then choose an activity for session 2. For this session students will select activities from courses outlined in this booklet.
Sessions: The day will be divided into two sessions:
1. 9.00 am until 12.30 am 2. 1.30 pm until 3.10 pm
Venues: The activities occurring in session 1 will occur offsite. The activities using outside venues have fully
explained details in their course outlines.
Costs: The cost is $70. This is equivalent to approx. $17.50 per day. The school will require full payment in
advance of EOYA.
Note: Cost for Bus Transport, has been built into the total costs.
Dress: Students are not required to wear school uniform. Appropriate casual attire is more suitable for
activities; however, school policy must still be followed, and the following items are NOT to be
worn:
very brief skirts, shorts or tops, clothing with offensive (to the general public) printing etc.
N.B. Footwear must be suitable for the normal expectations of your chosen activity.
If your activity is outdoors, please pay attention to the Cancer Council’s advice of:- SLIP SLOP SLAP WRAP
Selection Procedure: This year selections will be completed online through the program Qkr. Each student will need to choose their
activity for session 2. Parents will then log onto Qkr and begin the payment process. There is a different GL code for
each afternoon activity.
Afternoon activities have restrictions on numbers; therefore there is an urgency for prompt returns – FIRST IN
ROUTINE APPLIES.
Once payment has been completed both parents and students are to complete the consent form online through
Qkr.
Selections can be made FROM Monday 23th November (week 7) and must be submitted by end-of-day Friday 4th
December (week 8) to allow for activities to be finalised.
NOTE: No payments will be accepted prior to this date.
Roll Marking and Follow Up: Each activity will have a roll. These rolls will be marked at each session. Absentee lists will be collected and collated. Attendance will be closely monitored, and parents informed of any irregularities.

Session 1 – Students will rotate through these activities.
Activity: MMoovviieess
Venue: Glendale Event Cinema Session: 1
This activity will involve students travelling to Glendale to view a movie.
Students are able to purchase food or take snacks with them.
Movie TBA.
Activity: RReevvoolluuttiioonn TTrraammppoolliinnee PPaarrkk
Venue: Revolution Maryville Session: 1
This activity will involve students travelling to Maryville to attend
the trampoline park. They will enjoy an active morning of jumping
and will be able to navigate the inflatables course.
Note: Students will need ‘grip’ socks. They can purchase them there
or take their own. They are approx. $4.
Activity: TToorroonnttoo PPooooll
Venue: Toronto Pool Session: 1
This activity will involve students travelling to Toronto
Pool to enjoy a morning of swimming. They will also be
able to use the inflatables in the pool - can they make it to
the end without falling off?
Note: Students will need to undertake a swim test on the
day before participating.

Activity: CCoommmmuunniittyy MMoorrnniinngg
Venue: Speers Point Pool Session: 1
This activity will involve students having a mini-community day with
their year group and year advisor. This will involve a trip to Speers
Point Pool and a BBQ lunch on their return to school.
Note: If students have not yet undertaken a swim test at Toronto Pool,
they will need to do so here before participating.

Session 2 – Students will choose one activity to complete each afternoon
over the 4 days.
Activity: FFiisshhiinngg
Venue: Local Area Session: 2
❖ TRAVEL: Students will be walking to various local venues.
❖ Footwear, sunscreen and hat.
❖ Swimming proficiency would be a recommended pre-requisite for this course, for safety
reasons.
❖ Students will share their fishing time between local venues.
❖ Students will have instruction on setting up their fishing gear and water safety.
❖ Students will require a small fishing rod (approx. 2m) and reel.
❖ Bait and tackle will need to be supplied by the student each day.

Activity: Network Computer Games
Venue: School Session: 2
Network games allow individuals to compete against other people on
the network or a team Vs another team. It is an exciting and interactive
use of computers within a social setting. There are some devices
available, but preferably you will need to bring a device with you.
Numbers are limited to 60 this year.
Activity: Pool/Table Tennis
Venue: School Session: 2
Take the chance to experience these popular, but often difficult to access,
sport and recreational activities.
Numbers are limited to 20 this year.

Activity: Board Games
Venue: School Session: 2
Want to build a small Japanese town? Compete to be the best architect
in Ancient Egypt? Lots of modern board games have fantastic themes to
suit all interests. They rely on a keen sense of logic, reward careful
planning and occasionally need lady luck to smile on you!
Relax, sharpen your mental prowess and enjoy relaxed conversations
with friends.
As the board games will come from a personal collection a high level of trust in the students will be
needed. As the games require instruction to set up numbers have to be kept to a limit.

Activity: Reading for Leisure
Venue: School Session: 2
A relaxing way to finish the day. Students are to bring in their own reading
material allowing them to escape into another world!
Numbers are limited to 40 this year.
Activity: Futsal
Venue: School Session: 2
An energetic way to finish the day. Enjoy this skilful version of football with a
rotational competition.
Numbers are limited to 60 this year.

Activity: Short Film Shoot-Out
Venue: School Sessions: 2
Think you’re a budding movie mogul or the next big star of the silver screen? Then
put your skills to the test here.
Working in teams, students will plan, shoot and edit a short film of up to 5
minutes in length. Students will have the opportunity to record and edit sound
effects and music for their film. We will also practise using a ‘green screen’ for
special effects. On the last day, each film will be screened with prizes awarded to the best films.
This activity will suit anyone interested in filmmaking, acting, writing, music or animation.

Venue: School Session: 2
Enter the spirit of Christmas with some Festive Films!
Join us for an afternoon of holiday treats and Christmas cinema classics such as;
‘Home Alone’, ‘The Grinch’, ‘The Polar Express’ and more!
NOTE: Permission notes will be required to view ‘M’ rated movies. In some cases,
it will be necessary to enter the classrooms for viewings during lunch, to watch the
entire film.

Activity: Chick Flicks
Venue: School Session: 2
If you love romance and a good laugh, then this activity is for you! Join us
for a relaxing break as we consume the classics; Disney princesses, musicals
and high school movies.
You get to relax in air-conditioned comfort and watch a great movie with
your friends.
Numbers are limited to 100 this year.

Activity: Jigsaw Puzzles
Venue: School Session: 2
If you want a relaxing time and like solving puzzles, then this is the
activity for you. Join your friends and spend a session completing
some jigsaw puzzles.

Activity: Christmas Craft
Venue: Various Session: 2
Do you like making things? Working with your hands? Being creative? Celebrating
Christmas?
Then this is the activity for you. You will have a chance to work on creating a
variety of Christmas craft activities.

Activity: Super Tie-Dye Heroes
Venue: School Session: 2
Do you like superhero movies? Think Thor, Aqua-man,
Spiderman, Batman, Wonder Woman and Iron Man! Do you also
like colours and getting creative?
Then you are DEFINITELY a Super Tie-Dye Hero! Calling all
Super Tie-Dye Heroes to come and tie-dye some of their own
items from home, such as your boring white socks, or that faded
t-shirt that has no colour in it anymore - turn them into something
AMAZING with tie-dye! Then, kick back and relax and enjoy
watching superhero movies for the remainder of the afternoon.
Various coloured dyes will be supplied to you to tie-dye in your favourite superhero's colours and
theme. All you need to do is bring in anything else you would like to tie dye!

Activity: Harry Potter and the End of Year Activities
Venue: School Session: 2
This is an activity for the Harry Potter die-hard fans. We will be splitting into our
house groups to compete in a house cup (points awarded by delegation of the
professors). We could concoct potions. earn house points through playing Harry
Potter themed games, quidditch (can anyone remember the rules from last year? If
not, we will make new ones!) and trivia. All the while our mate Harry will be
playing in the background.

Activity: Theatre Sports
Venue: School Session: 2
Do you love playing Drama games or love watching TV Shows like Whose
Line Is It Anyway? Theatre sports is for you! Theatre sports is a series of
team-based Drama Games that give you a ‘theme’ or ‘idea’ only a few
seconds prior to beginning your scene with the performance being made up
on the spot. Friday –Tuesday will introduce you to the games and set up
teams in preparation for a Theatre sports competition on the Wednesday!

Activity: Giant Chess
Venue: School Session: 2
Do you love playing games or strategising to beat your opponent? Then
this might be the activity for you!
Chess is game played by millions of people around the world where
you use strategy and cunning to beat your opponent. You will have a
chance to get outside and play with a giant chess set! Maybe team up with a friend to take down
your opponents. Will you win??

Activity: Basic Car Maintenance
Venue: School Session: 2
Are you planning to drive a car in the future? Do you want to know
how to safely manage the basics of that car? Then this could be the
activity for you!
Learn and practice some basic skills that everyone should have
when it comes to owning a car. Students will participate in
activities like:
• Checking of fluid levels (power steering, coolant, water, oil,
brake etc)
• Jacking points of a car and how to use a scissor jack
• The safe approach to jacking up a car
• Changing a tyre
• How to change the oil
Because you will be active around the car, make sure you wear something that you don’t
mind potentially getting a little dirty!
