BILLINGS CATHOLIC SCHOOL K-8
BILLINGS, MT
Con’eer Engineering, Inc. March 3, 2016 1629 Avenue D, Suite 7C Billings MT 59102 Project No. 15053
Bid Date: March 10, 2016 Bid Time: 2 p.m. local Bid Location: Langlas & Associates, 2270 Grant Road, Billings, MT 59102
GENERAL 1. THIS ADDENDUM SHALL BE CONSIDERED A PART OF THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS AND
SHALL TAKE PRECEDENCE OVER ALL REQUIREMENTS FOR THE WORK SHOWN ON THE DRAWINGS AND/OR SPECIFICATIONS.
2. WORK NOT SPECIFICALLY CHANGED OR MODIFIED BY THIS ADDENDUM SHALL BE AS
ORIGINALLY SHOWN ON THE DRAWINGS AND/OR SPECIFICATIONS. 3. BIDDERS ARE REQUIRED TO ACKNOWLEDGE RECEIPT OF ADDENDA BY NUMBER
INSERTED IN SPACES PROVIDED ON THE BID PROPOSAL. 4. THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR IS REQUIRED TO PROVIDE COPIES OF THIS ADDENDUM
TO ALL SUBCONTRACTORS AND SUPPLIERS BOTH DURING THE BIDDING PERIOD AND FOLLOWING AWARDING OF THE CONTRACT.
CONTRACTORS’ QUESTIONS
1. Specifications indicate SPD requirements on indicated panelboards, none are indicated, where is this required? Answer: Provide SPD per specification on SWBD2, MDP1, MDP2, L1P2, L1P5, L2P2 and L2P3.
2. Do you really want a 3 year warranty on the switchboards and panelboards? Answer: Yes 3. Do you want a SPD in the Switchboard? There is not one shown on the one-line, so I
was thinking it wasn't required, but it’s in the spec? Answer: See response to question 1.
4. Panel spec 262416-4, 2.1, E, 7, b: Do you really want painted back boxes? This would be unusual for a school.
Answer: No, remove reference to painted back boxes from project requirement. 5 Can we series rate the panelboards? Answer: No 6. There are a couple of panel designations on the one line that don't match designations
on the panel schedules. Is L1PG the same as LRPG?
Answer: No, LRPG is a relay panel not a panelboard. Is LPK the same as KP1? Answer: Yes, see additional addendum information regarding sheet E9.4. 7. Sheet E3.1, details 9 & 17 called out keynote symbols, but there is not a keynote
schedule on this page. Please reference the schedule. Answer: See sketch ESK-3 for keyed notes missing from E3.1.
![Page 7: END OF ADDENDUM #3 · 2. Custom printed imaged to be provided by Architect. 3. Image to include maximum of 10 pantone colors. 08 41 13 – Aluminum-Framed Entrance and Storefronts:](https://reader035.vdocuments.us/reader035/viewer/2022071023/5fd7b4fba24ca47f046c88f7/html5/thumbnails/7.jpg)
BCS K-8 Addendum #3 Page 2
8. Science rooms 2213&2215 show a keyed note 2 (lavatory sensor). Should this actually be keyed note 4 drop cords?
Answer: Yes, the note reference should be 4. 9. Sheet (2) E2.1C calls the details 6&8 to be Alternate #1. Please confirm that these are
actually Alternate #2. Answer: Yes, these are for Alternate #2. 10. Can MC Cable be used for the receptacle branch circuits? Answer: No. 11. Will alternate #4: Lighting Option in Classrooms affect the lighting control panel?
Answer: No, the controls will be similar. The lighting will need to be programmed differently but the components required will be the same.
12. Will Aluminum feeders be acceptable in place of the copper feeders?
Answer: Aluminum feeders would be acceptable for the service entrance, feeders to MDP1 and MDP2 only. EC is responsible for up-sizing the conductors and conduit required to be equivalent in ampacity to the specified copper feeders listed on the plans.
13. Please clarify the lighting for Alternate 4. For example class room 2230 has two rows of
lights so there will be two rows of F3’s for alt#4? But for room 2228 there are one row of lights so we only need one row of F3’s or since this is a resource room and not a class room is it a part of the alternate? Answer: Although it was discussed at the pre-bid meeting to include all the rooms that students use, for bidding purposes the Alternate #4 will be just for classrooms in sections A and B.
14. On (1) E2.1C lighting note C-it refers to look at detail 16/ on (1)E2.1C, but there isn’t a
detail 16. Answer: Refer to sketches ESK-6, 7, 8 and 9 for revisions to (1) E2.1C and the
missing detail. DRAWINGS Sheet M2.1A

2. Add duct silencer in the 16” supply duct upstream of VAV box VAV-6-10, Ruskin AX-A or approved equal. Silencer inlet to match duct size.
Sheet M9.2
1. Added P9 to the plumbing fixture schedule. Design basis for P9 is an emergency eye / face wash, pedestal mount, Bradley S19214 Series with Bradley S19-2000 EFX8 thermostatic mixing valve to meet tepid water supply requirements.
Sheet M9.3
1. Clarification 7/M9.3. Revised 3-way valve coil piping detail. See sketch MSK-2. 2. Clarification 1/M9.3. Air-cooled chiller detail is for a grade mounted chiller, which does not
apply for this project. For this project, the chiller is mounted on the roof above the mechanical room and the piping is similar. Instead of penetrating an exterior wall, the piping will penetrate the roof. Provide roof jacks or pipe chase curbs for the piping roof penetrations and support pipes on the roof near the chiller. Maintain piping and piping appurtenances shown indoors and outdoors.
3. Clarification. No dry-cooler detail is shown, but would be similar to the air-cooled chiller detail. Refer to the piping schematic on P9.8 for valves, pressure gauge, drain, etc. For this project, the dry-cooler is mounted on the roof near the chiller. Provide roof jacks or pipe chase curbs for the piping roof penetrations and support pipes on the roof near the dry-cooler. Locate the pressure gauge indoors. Provide isolation valves outdoors near the unit and indoors in the mechanical room.
Sheet M9.4
1. Clarification 6/M9.4. Domestic water service entrance detail modified to include meter by-pass loop as required by the City of Billings. Refer to sketch MSK-1.
Sheets P2.1A, P2.1B, P2.2A
1. Clarification. Sinks not tagged that are located in classrooms and shared areas are type P4. Sheet P9.8
1. Clarification. Revised 3-way control valve piping for AHU-2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 to be consistent with MSK-2.
