Dear Scholarship Applicant: The Home Builders & Remodelers Professional Women in Building Council Metro East (HB&R PWB) is a Council within an organization made up of firms in the building industry that include builders, remodelers, developers, and associated businesses – all dedicated to improving the professional stature of our industry. The association PWB has developed a Scholarship Program to encourage qualified women students to continue their interest in the home building industry.

The scholarship will be a minimum amount of $500. Applications will be reviewed with a recipient selected by the members of the HB&R PWB Leadership Committee. Consideration will be given to academics, building-related involvement, leadership & extracurricular activities and community involvement.

Scholarship checks are payable in the name of the institution (community college, university or trade school) the recipient is or will be attending and are distributed by the Home Builders & Remodelers Metro East Association. The HB&R Professional Women in Building Council Metro East directs and administers the scholarship program.

Scholarship recipients will be notified by e-mail. The scholarship award may be used to pay for tuition, fees and/or books. If you have any questions after reviewing the enclosed materials, please feel free to contact our office at (618) 343-6331.

HB&R Professional Women in Building Council Metro East Program Explanation and Guidelines

Students must be a female, under the age of 20 in a construction-related career path which may include construction management, construction technology, civil engineering, architecture, design, or any of the trade specialties at the college, trade school or university they attend. Previous scholarship recipients are not eligible.

Students must be a high school senior or enrolled in community college.

Students must be in good standing with a C+ grade average or higher.

Students must submit the required academic documents: most recent transcripts to be submitted with application and letter of recommendation from their school counselor or teacher.

The student applicant must come from one of the following counties: Bond, Calhoun, Clinton, Greene, Jersey, Madison, Monroe, Randolph and St. Clair Counties
