The EATON ATS models that are covered in this manual are intended for installation in an environment within 0°C to 40°C (32°F to 104°F) and free of conductive contaminant.

1. Introduction
TheEATONAutomaticTransferSwitch(ATS)isahighavailabilityswitchdesignedforprovidingredundantpowerforsensitiveequipment.Itispoweredbytwoindependentpowersourcesandautomaticallymakesa rapid switch from one source to the other when the power supply used to power its connected load fails. ThisATSisdesignedtobeefficientandreliable.
UserscanknowEATONATS’spowerflow,status,parametersfromtheLCDinterface.Besides,theEATS16Nunithasanetworkinterfaceforuserstoreadandwriteparameters.ThenetworkinterfacecanbeimplementedviatheEthernetprotocolthroughanRJ45connector.

3.6 Instructions
1.ElevatedOperatingAmbient-Ifinstalledinaclosedormulti-unitrackassembly,theoperatingambienttemperatureoftherackenvironmentmaybegreaterthanroomambient.Therefore,considerationshouldbegiventoinstallingtheequipmentinanenvironmentcompatiblewiththemaximumambienttemperature(Tmax)specifiedbythemanufacturer.
2. ReducedAirFlow-Installationoftheequipmentinarackshouldbesuchthattheamountofairflowrequired for safe operation of the equipment is not compromised.
3. MechanicalLoading-Mountingoftheequipmentintherackshouldbesuchthatahazardousconditionisnot achieved due to uneven mechanical loading.
4. CircuitOverloading-Considerationshouldbegiventotheconnectionoftheequipmenttothesupplycircuit and the effect that overloading of the circuits might have on overcurrent protection and supply wiring.Appropriateconsiderationofequipmentnameplateratingsshouldbeusedwhenaddressingthisconcern.
5.ReliableEarthing-Reliablegroundingofrack-mountedequipmentshouldbemaintained.Particularattentionshouldbegiventosupplyconnectionsotherthandirectconnectionstothebranchcircuit(e.g.use of power strips).
