SURVEY

The Moskovits Miksa Palace represents one of the most spectacular

buildings built up in the secession style in the city of Oradea.

Having in view the architectural value of this monument and the visible

degradation condition, the decision for the restoration of faades has been

taken. In view to elaborate the technical project of restoration, the 3D laser

scanning survey method has been selected.

The advantages of this measurement technique, helping the restoration

project are the following:

Low time of data acquisition comparatively to the classical methods;

Non invasive method to collect data; Low price of works;

Authentic, full and accurate 3D copy of reality that can not be executed

with other measurement mean or method;

2D and 3D documentation within the easy reach of engineers, structure

designers and architects;

Conversion in 2D plans and 3D models compatible with all CAD software;

Detailed mapping of degradations it allows the design of the restoration

and preservation works and time monitoring of the results of the

intervention;

Structure details complex documentation based on the accuracy and

large volume of purchased data;

Reconstruction of complex architectural elements
