What’s changing?

tapestry

The federal government is rapidly changing national health care policy which will impact how women and low-income people can access the sexual and reproductive health care they need.

What’s the result?Tapestry could lose up to 30% of its budget for sexual and reproductive health care, impacting

over 7,000 clients in Western MA.

Tapestry is the only Title X provider west of Springfield/ Holyoke. Through Title X alone, last year Tapestry provided:

THE ISSUES

1,547birth control pills to women and teens

2,274women with breast &

cervical cancer screenings

6,377tests for STIs

Title X:

Program to help low-income women access care.

Key funding source for Tapestry that may be eliminated this fall.

Medicare:

Limits where low-income people can use it.

Changes to how states can distribute it.

National Health Care Law:

Provides health insurance to millions fewer people.

Makes it more difficult to access prenatal care and contraception.

Join us as we fight to keep this care available!

Make a difference. With a strong, grassroots coalition of supporters, we can meet this challenge! Passionate people like you sharing our mission can make all the difference. By educating your friends, family and neighborhood about Tapestry, you will:

• Reach people who may need our services.• Connect with others who also want to take action and get involved locally.• Grow the circle of people who donate to Tapestry and keep us strong.

THINK LOCAL

If I give to Planned Parenthood, will my gift support Tapestry? Tapestry stands shoulder to shoulder with Planned Parenthood in the fight for women’s reproductive health and rights. We are allies! But it’s important to know:

• We are an independent, local agency. We receive no administrative or financial support from Planned Parenthood.

• We are supported by the same federal programs that are under attack, but we are smaller and have fewer resources.

• We have clinics throughout this region including (Springfield, Holyoke, Northampton, Greenfield, Pittsfield, and North Adams) including under-served rural areas. Planned Parenthood is located in Springfield only.

• Tapestry was founded in Western MA and has been providing care here for over 40 years. We rely on your local support.

Please stand with Planned Parenthood, and stand with Tapestry too!

Local care needs local support. As a fundraiser for Tapestry, the money you raise will support our services. Your activities in the community can help us build an even stronger base of local supporters, by connecting us with businesses, community groups and individuals who care about protecting access to care and who want to take action to make a difference.
