CEC VISION STATEMENT: • In order to accelerate learning for every APS student every day, the APS Classified Employees Council’s vision is to support employees and be an active association for every classified employee, ensuring a safe work environment and a well-trained, dynamic and diverse staff.

COMMITTEE REPRESENTATION FOR CLASSIFIED EMPLOYEES COUNCIL (CEC)

The following is a brief description of the Council committees. Members may serve a two (2) year term to represent classified employees in our district.

SALARY COMMITTEE:• Propose to the Board of Education, no later than May

1 of each school year, the Council’s input for recom-mendation regarding salary/cost of living.

POLICY COMMITTEE:• Review and submit recommendations to the Superin-

tendent for updates and clarifications to the policies and regulations that relate to classified employees.

GRIEVANCE COMMITTEE:• Assist employees in the grievance process to the extent allowed by Board policy and regulation.• All information learned by members of the committee

relating to a grievance will remain confidential and will not be discussed even with other members of the CEC.

INSURANCE COMMITTEE:• Assist in reviewing insurance programs and bids for the District.

CLASSIFIED HEALTH LEAVE BANK COMMITTEE:• Review classified employee requests for additional

health leave. See APS Policy GDCAA for more information.

PROFESSIONAL LEARNING COMMITTEE:• Assist professional development in managing classified professional growth.
