What is an Emoji?

Emoji Is CodesEmoji is the Japanese term for picture characters. These "picture characters" are standardized and built into [most Japanese] handsets.Therefore, Emoji can roughly be translated to standardized icons with a meaning. The key word here is standardized. What makes Emoji special is that it was developed by scientists.

What is the biggest difference between emoji and emoticons?

EmojiCodes meant to be read and transferred by computers then decoded into Pre-Defined images users can see. They are limited in number.A set of predefined pictures with meanings that a smartphone user can choose to include in their text and email message because they were pre-programmed on the phone.

EmoticonsThey are user created images from text so the possible combinations is infinite.They're all the little smiley faces!$# :) :( :D D:

How Do I Use them In Twitter/Facebook?

1.) In the Twitter app (iPad), look for the “smiling face” at the bottom of the keyboard.

2.) Otherwise, visit: http://emojipedia.org/symbols/

3.) Search for an emoji (this example uses “snow”)

4.) A search result page will appear. Click on the emoji you’d like to use.

5.) More details, and examples of how it will appear in each platform, will load.

6.) Copy the small snowflake symbol and paste it into your Tweet/Facebook post.

1.) Don’t go to extremes. Use your professional judgement in the use of emojis. Obviously stay away from emojis that are not considered professional. If you have to think twice about it, don’t do it.

2.) Use emojis sparingly. Good social media practice it to use them, but not in every post/tweet that’s send out. They are meant to make a social feed interesting, but can get old if used to frequently.
