Da Vinci became famous because he was an apprentice to Andrea del Verrocchio, who was the best painter and sculptor of his time.

Since people knew Verrocchio, they began to know Leonardo.

At first, Da Vinci helped Verrocchio with some of his paintings

He then became an independent master He made his first scientific drawing not so

long after he became a master

He tried in secret so he may have succeeded but he maybe wanted to keep it to himself BUT he died maybe earlier than he had planned so he didn’t have time to show everyone
