Emissions System Mounting Accessories

The mounting hardware and accessories featured on the next few pages are specifcally designed for emissions retrofit applications, as standard Donaldson aftermarket exhaust components may not be sufficient to support the extra weight.

Donaldson recommends replacing any original mounting hardware with new, heavy-duty versions. The addition of catalyst and filter components built into the emissions retrofit system (i.e., DPF, DOC, DMF and LTF) increase the overall weight and require heavier-duty mounting bands and clamps. Donaldson recommends a minimum of two mounting brackets be used for all retrofit system installations.

The exhaust stack cap is designed to be mounted on top of a vertical straight exhaust stack pipe and prevents water and debris from entering the stack. The stack cap is not water-tight during pressure washes or under strong wind conditions. Use where exhaust gas temperatures are less than 1000º F / 537º C.

For proper installation, the exhaust cap needs clearance for counterweight rotation and should be installed at a point that allows for this without interference.

The exhaust cap should be placed on the outer diameter of the stack pipe. Allow approximately ¼” of clearance between cap and top of stack.

Ejector

A Donaldson exhaust ejector mounts as a stack at the end of exhaust system (stack caps or extension tubes may be added). The ejector is used with a Donaldson Donaspin™ pre-cleaner or Strata™ system* – typically used in off-highway equipment to extend air filter life.

There are three styles available depending on the space and design of your equipment. All ejectors are constructed of heavy-gauge, aluminized steel. Select the appropriate ejector by the intake airflow (CFM) of your engine.

The Donaspin™ pre-cleaner uses a spinning motion of the airstream to force dirt and debris to the outside wall of the pre-cleaner body. The dirt and debris are forced to the bottom of the pre-cleaner and expelled by the secondary ariflow developed by the ejector.
