Interns Manual

1. Registration In order to apply for internships you will need to sign up first. Click on the Register tab at the top of the page and then click on the intern registration tab.

Fill out the entire registration form and click on the create account button. A confirmation email will be sent to your email address with your login details.

2. Create Your CV You will then create your CV. This takes you to the Profile Build Options page, where you can

choose to build and complete your profile in 4 easy ways:

• Use the CV Builder

• Upload your CV

• Import from LinkedIn

• Import from Bayt.com

Option 1: Use CV Builder- Using this option, you can build your resume from a scratch,

completing your profile step-by-step as you go.

The CV Builder page is broken down into different sections and as you fill out each section, the system shows you your CV Completeness score in the right hand column. Try to fill in as much details as possible since that maximizes your chances of being shortlisted by the employers. Click on each of the above sections to complete your CV.

Once your CV is complete, you will be able to apply for internships and Employers will be able to see your CVs when they are searching for suitable candidates. In each section, carefully fill in required information. Some fields appear in red color on the

CV Builder. These are mandatory fields and need to be filled in mandatorily before your CV

becomes searchable by employers.

Similarly, sections (Experience, Education, etc.) which must be filled in mandatorily are

highlighted in pink color.

Further, to guide you which sections still are incomplete, the side-box on the right lists them

out for you under “Missing Required CV Section “. Click on each of these missing sections to

fill out information and proceed.

Each mandatory field in the CV builder is designed to make your CV more visible and

searchable online. We encourage you to complete the various sections professionally and

accurately to improve your chances of hearing back from prospective employers.

You should also upload your original CV (customized/personalized) as a best practice to

increase your visibility amongst employers. Uploaded CVs can be searched by employers

through keywords. The maximum attachment size should not exceed 1 MB.

You need as well to upload copy of your ID & Passport first page to complete your profile.

Option 2: Upload your CV

This option allows you to upload a soft copy of your CV from your system. The system then

parses this CV and fills in the corresponding fields of CV builder, which saves a lot of your time

and effort.

You can edit and review this parsed information, and fill in rest of the fields to complete your

profile.

Option 3: Import from LinkedIn

3. Dashboard

Gain an overview of your CV performance and Job Alerts. Manage your job applications,

account settings, profile information etc., through a single interface.

1. CV Information: Displaying summary statistics about your CV, such as number of

times it came up in search results, number of times it was viewed, last modified on, etc.

• CV Applications/Searches/Views: These fields refer to statistics that can help

you gauge the performance of your CV.

o Applications: refers to the number of Internships you have applied for

since registering with the portal.

o Searches: displays the number of times your CV has appeared as a

relevant match against a search query run by the employer.

o Views: calculates the number of times your CV has been opened and

read by a recruiter.

2. My Job Alerts: Displaying the saved job alerts and the option to add new ones.

3. Recommended Actions: Listing some recommendations for you to perform. For

example, Complete / Edit your CV, Search Internships.

4. Job Applications: Listing all your previous applications.

5. My CV: Clicking on this option will display any CV you have created previously. You

can choose to edit your CV or simply preview it in See how employers view my CV mode.

Revisiting and updating your CV from time to time is recommended practice.

6. Job Alerts – This features assists users who do not frequently visit Drydocks World

Platform but are interested in receiving job alerts and updates. There are multiple benefits of

using this advanced tool.

You can save your job search criteria using 11 available filters (such as keywords, Internship

location, industry etc.) and simply run your search the next time you log-in. The system will

remember your selections so you do not have to search for suitable vacancies from scratch.

You can program the tool to email you daily, weekly or monthly notifications. You only have

to login and apply if an advertised position catches your eye.

4. Search Internships You can search all open internship vacancies listed by the employers by clicking on Search Internships link in the menu on the left. You can filter the internships by keywords and location. For more detailed filters click on Advanced Internship Search link.

You can click on the Apply Now link under each Internship to apply for a particular internship.

Advanced Search – The Advanced search option helps you personalize your Internship

search.

Using the advanced Internship search will narrow down your search results and this is done

by you choosing the desired Internship Title, Location and Role, the Company type and

industry, the minimum monthly Salary, Status.

In addition, it gives you the option of saving your search.

‘By Company’ option appears on the left side under ‘Search Internships’ tab, will enables you to search for internships by company.

5. Email Alerts You can create email alerts on the portal so that they system will automatically email you whenever there’s an internship posted that matches your requirements. You can set up email alerts by clicking on ‘Search Internships’ tab and click on Email Alerts. You can specify the criteria for the alerts and also set whether you’d like to get daily, weekly or monthly email alerts.

By clicking on ‘Add an Email Alert’, you will be able to specify ‘How would you like to receive your Internship alerts’ as well as ‘Internship Alert Settings’.

My Saved Jobs – You are able to view the internships you have saved under Saved Jobs. By

Default they are displayed in Summary View, however you can choose Detail View, to view

them in more details, or you can delete one or all of them.
