•Hampton University is located Southeast of

Hampton, VA.

•Hampton was founded in the year of 1868

•1870: H.U was chartered as a normal and

agriculture school.

•In 1930 -84 Hampton was founded by Samuel

Chapman Armstrong

•H.U is known as one of the first “Black

Colleges”.

•Hampton University has over 5,700 students

that come from 49 states out of 35 territories

including nations.

•H.U represents urban centers, suburban

communities,small towns, and rural areas. H.U

also has a diversified background.

black college or university) and was founded

on April 1, 1868.
