As one of the leading contracting companies in Saudi Arabia, EMECO is proud to continue to associate itself with iconic projects. Since our establishment in 1984, we have been following the same vision and have been involved in all aspects of construction.

Because of our commitment to provide high quality work, on time and within budget, our client base continues to grow and most of our clients repeatedly award work to EMECO. They know we have the skills, resources and expertise, and most importantly, the ability and the will to complete their projects to the highest standards. In order to offer the above services to the highest standards, EMECO employs highly experienced professionals for the execution of the works backed by an efficient engineering department that provides the necessary design, estimates, drawings and other engineering services necessary for the smooth and proper execution of the projects.

H.S.E & Quality issues are also among the most important concerns of our company. EMECO follows stringent safety regimes and quality procedures and strives to continuously improve its performance.

EMECO General Contractor’s, www.emecosa.com, is an Abbar & Sons construction company headquartered in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Established in 1984, EMECO started as an electromechanical contractor. As it grew, the company soon became a turnkey general contractor, developing subsidiaries and affiliates throughout the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

EMECO General Contractors is staffed by a host of seasoned professionals with backgrounds and expertise to undertake almost all architectural, commercial, industrial, residential, steel and topographic projects on a turnkey basis.

EMECO ARCHITECTUREDue to the ever-growing demand for residential housing, EMECO has created a one-stop shop for its clients. In collaboration with EMECO Residential we are now able to offer our clients turnkey solutions, from design all the way up to final construction of homes or offices. The services offered by EMECO Architecture range from simple design layouts, all the way up to interactive 3D models. Whether you are planning to build an office, villa or a palace, EMECO Architecture can design it for you.

EMECO COMMERCIALOver the past 30 years, Saudi Arabia has witnessed a huge boom in the commercial sector. As a result, EMECO has established an entire division to meet this demand. The EMECO Commercial division handles all types of commercial projects, ranging from shopping malls and hotels to hospitals and airports.

EMECO INDUSTRIALWith an annual industrial budget that exceeds the GDP of most countries, Saudi Arabia’s industrial sector continues to expand dramatically. EMECO’s Industrial division has been involved in all types of major industrial works. Whether the project is a power plant or gold mine, EMECO Industrial has done it successfully.

EMECO Industrial is divided into three business units: Infrastructure, Mining & Power.

• EMECO Industrial Infrastructure Operating for the past 30 years, the EMECO Infrastructure business unit is headed by professionals with decades of experience and expertise. By owning its own concrete batch plants and supported by a fleet of transit mixers, pumps and earth moving equipment, EMECO has the capability to construct multiple projects at multiple sites all at the same time.

• EMECO Industrial Mining EMECO’s Mining business unit has 15 years experience in constructing copper, gold, magnesium and phosphate mines throughout the Kingdom. Having close relationships with Ma’aden, the Kingdom’s state-owned mining corporation, EMECO has been involved in the construction of all its gold mine projects.

• EMECO Industrial Power EMECO’s Industrial Power business unit has extensive experience in constructing, on a turnkey basis, power stations running on diesel/HFO/crude oil. EMECO’s Industrial Power division can help design, plan, implement, operate and manage a wide range of power projects.

EMECO Industrial is divided into three business units:

Infrastructure, Miningand Power.

EMECO RESIDENTIALWorking closely with EMECO Architecture, EMECO’s Residential division has constructed numerous residential compounds, villas and palaces on turnkey basis.

EMECO STEELEMECO Steel has become a leader in steel design and fabrication. EMECO Steel is capable of designing and fabricating steel based on the highest levels of engineering and specification. As the sole representative of several steel PEB fabricators from the GCC and other countries, EMECO Steel maintains a highly trained team of professionals, equipped with the latest heavy equipment and safety gear to erect a variety of steel structures.

EMECO TOPOGRAPHYEMECO's Topography division has partnered with one of the world’s leading surveying companies, GeoMap. GeoMap is a branch of the Bureau d'Etudes Topographiques (BET), the oldest surveying firm in the region with over 60 years experience. Now, together with GeoMap's expertise, EMECO can offer its clients extensive surveying services including topographic and bathymetric surveying, GPS mission and geodetic networks triangulation, highway and roadway surveys, infrastructural studies and quantity surveying.

Between 1982 & 1984 the electromechanical division of United Arab Agencies, a subsidiary of the Abbar Group, was headed by the General Manager of EMECO General Contractors.

It was the decision of EMECO’s General Manager with Sh. Abdullah Abbar to establish EMECO as an independent company to target electromechanical projects in the construction sector.

EMECO was established in 1984 as a company specialized in electrical & mechanical projects. In 1988 EMECO was awarded a SR 54,000,000 project to design and construct in 9 months on turnkey basis in Mina two slaughterhouses each with a capacity of slaughtering 1500 carcasses per hour and two cold stores each with a capacity of freezing and storing 70,000 carcasses.

Now, 30 years later EMECO General Contractors has become an industry leader in the construction of all types of architectural, commercial, industrial, residential, steel and topography projects.

The Company reserves and maintains the absolute right to ensure compliance with its Code of Discipline, corporate policies and standard operating procedures and take appropriate administrative/ disciplinary action/s against any employee, as warranted and given sufficient reasons for such actions.

It is the right of the Company to protect its interests, its property and its people. The Company shall ensure efficient operations and preserve industrial peace, order and safety.

EMECO holds and confirms the right to identify the types of behavior that cannot be tolerated or permitted in the organization, the code of professional conduct, discipline and workplace courtesy and the standards of quality, performance and competence expected from its employees.

No EMECO employees shall be disciplined, suspended or terminated without a valid cause.

Valid causes for disciplinary action shall include, but not limited to, the violation of the Company’s Code of Discipline, noncompliance or deviation from Company Policies and Standard Operating Procedures, conduct that interferes with the efficient operations of the Company, behavior that discredits the Company or offends co‐employees, superiors, clients, any of the Company's stakeholders of the community in general, offenses against safety, peace and order, infractions against honor, honesty and integrity, failure to follow or non‐ performance of duties and lawful orders of superiors, incompetence, not able to meet performance standards and deliver expected results, among others.

It is the right of every employee to be accorded his basic human rights, to be treated fairly, with utmost respect due to every human being. The welfare, security and safety of employees shall be at all times protected and promoted.

An employee, when notified of administrative charges filed against him, shall be given the right to due process, the right to a fair trial and speedy investigation. He shall be given the opportunity to elect a colleague, a counselor or a relative who can accompany him at every stage of the investigation or at the time of appeal, after being dismissed, to ensure fair and impartial administration of the disciplinary proceedings.

Items such as workmanship, documentation, material storage, submittals, as‐built, and non‐conformance work are all addressed. Detailed procedures for testing and quality assurance are further addressed on specific areas of importance for each project.

We are proud to say that our HSE achievements today are not only dependent on the steadfastness of the senior management’s persistence towards a Zero Accident but also to the conscientious efforts of all employees that safety is everyone’s responsibility and being proactive in preventing incident is indeed a way of life.

We operate on the premise that all accidents are preventable and EMECO will make every effort to identify HSE hazards, risks associated and control measures utilizing the three hierarchies of hazards control, which are:

1. Elimination of the risk where possible.

2. Mitigating/ minimizing the risk by substitution, engineering control and/ or isolation.

3. Where the risk cannot be eliminated or minimized to an acceptable level, we employ administrative control and PPE.

We believe that our visitors, subcontractors, suppliers and Clients are an extension of the EMECO family and their integration into our HSE system of work is essential. HSE induction is mandatory for everyone before entering our sites. We are committed to educate/ train each employee in safe working practices. No person shall be required or instructed to work under conditions that are unsafe to his or her safety and health. Each employee has a duty to report workplace unsafe Acts/Conditions or any situation may harm the environment and to take reasonable actions to alleviate such risks. To ensure implementations of a sound HSE system, EMECO safety team will conduct daily, weekly and monthly inspections along with the consultant and the project management team.

We strongly believe that Pro‐activeness and providing required and appropriate support are essential elements to our HSE approach has resulted in saving lives, monetary gains, public image, respect and recognition.
