Εὐλογηµένος ὁ ἐρχόµενος ἐν ὀνόµατιΚυρίου.

God is the Lord, and He revealed Himselfto us. Blessed is he who comes in the name ofthe Lord. [SAAS]

Στίχ. αʹ. Ἐξοµολογεῖσθε τῷ Κυρίῳ καὶἐπικαλεῖσθε τὸ ὄνοµα τὸ ἅγιον αὐτοῦ.

Verse 1: Give thanks to the Lord and callupon His holy name.

ἤ· Ἐξοµολογεῖσθε τῷ Κυρίῳ, ὅτι ἀγαθός,ὅτι εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα τὸ ἔλεος αὐτοῦ.

ΙΕΡΕΥΣἜτι καὶ ἔτι ἐν εἰρήνῃ τοῦ Κυρίου

Ἀντιλαβοῦ, σῶσον, ἐλέησον καὶδιαφύλαξον ἡµᾶς ὁ Θεὸς τῇ σῇ χάριτι.

Verse 2: All the nations surrounded me, but in the name of the Lord I defended myself against them.

Verse 3: And this came about from the Lord, and it is wonderful in our eyes.From Menaion - - -

Apolytikion of the Feast.Mode 1.

In giving birth, thou didst preserve thy virginity; in thy dormition, thou didst not forsake the world, O Theotokos. Thou wast translated unto life, since thou art the Mother of Life; and by thine intercessions dost thou redeem our souls from death. (3)

Commemorating our most holy, pure,blessed, and glorious Lady, the Theotokosand ever-virgin Mary, with all the saints, letus commend ourselves and one another andour whole life to Christ our God.

πάθη, ἀλλ' αὐτὸς ἀντιλαβοῦ, καὶ σῶσονΣωτήρ µου. (δίς)

Since my youth have many passionswaged war against me. O my Savior,nonetheless help me and save me. (2) [SD]

Οἱ µισοῦντες Σιών, αἰσχύνθητε ἀπὸτοῦ Κυρίου· ὡς χόρτος γάρ, πυρὶ ἔσεσθεἀπεξηραµµένοι. (δίς)

You, the haters of Zion, be put to shameby the Lord, for like thatch in fire you will becompletely dried up. (2) [SD]

Δόξα. Glory.Ἁγίῳ Πνεύµατι πᾶσα ψυχὴ ζωοῦται,

καὶ καθάρσει ὑψοῦται λαµπρύνεται, τῇτριαδικῇ Μονάδι ἱεροκρυφίως.

From the Holy Spirit every soul receiveslife, and through cleansing is lifted andbrightened, in a hidden, sacred manner, bythe trinal Monad. [SD]

Καὶ νῦν. Both now.Ἁγίῳ Πνεύµατι, ἀναβλύζει τὰ τῆς

χάριτος ῥεῖθρα, ἀρδεύοντα, ἅπασαν τὴνκτίσιν πρὸς ζωογονίαν.

From the Holy Spirit do the streams ofgrace well forth; they irrigate everythingcreated, so that life be engendered. [SD]

Προκείµενον. Ψαλµὸς 44. Prokeimenon. Psalm 44.Μνησθήσοµαι τοῦ ὀνόµατός σου ἐν

πάσῃ γενεᾷ καὶ γενεᾷ. (δίς)I will remember your name from

generation to generation. (2)

Verse: Listen, O daughter, behold andincline your ear, and forget your people and yourfather's house. For the King desired your beauty.

Young men and maidens, elders with younger,let them praise the Lord's name, for His name alone isexalted.
