Thus says the Lord: There shall comeforth a rod from the root of Jesse, and a flowershall grow out of his root. The Spirit of Godshall rest upon Him, the Spirit of wisdomand understanding, the Spirit of counsel andmight, the Spirit of knowledge and godliness.The Spirit of the fear of God shall fill Him.He shall not judge by reputation nor convictby common talk. The image had a headmade of fine gold, and its hands, chest, andarms were made of silver, and its stomachand thighs, of copper. Its legs were iron, andits feet were partly iron and partly clay. Yousaw while a stone was cut out of a mountainwithout hands, and it struck the image onits feet of iron and clay, and ground themto powder. Then at once the clay, the iron,the copper, the silver, and the gold were likedust from the summer threshing floor, and agreat force of wind blew them away; and theirplace was not to be found. Then the stone thatstruck the image became a great mountainand filled all the earth. This is the dream, andwe will tell its interpretation before the king.The God of heaven will raise up a kingdom,and it shall never be destroyed.
