The seven straight wins to start the season matched the best start to a season since 2002-03.

Back-to-Back for Jo-Jo: Last season’s leading rookie scorer, Johanna Eidensten’17, had been unable to get in the scor-ing column through the season’s first six games, but that changed over the weekend as she recorded four points on two goals and two assists at the Cardinal-Panther Classic. She tallied two assists, including one on the game-winning goal, against Middlebury on Saturday for her first two points of the season, then found the back of the net twice against Plattsburgh, EC’s only two goals of the game.

Showing Depth: The nation’s top scorers, Ashley Ryan ’15 and Ashton Hogan ’15, were shutout on the weekend as it was Elmira’s other talented skaters who carried the load of-fensively. EC scored six goals at the Cardinal-Panther Clas-sic, which were scored by five different players, and eight players in all recorded points on the weekend.

Looking Ahead: Following today’s contest, EC does not compete until after the New Year. Elmira will take on No. 5 Middlebury for the second time this season on Saturday, January 3rd at 3:00 p.m. in the Murray Athletic Center.

Game Notes (does not include yesterday’s game)A Look at the Bears: SUNY Potsdam enters this weekend of play on a three-game losing streak, all of which have come on the road against ECAC West Conference oppo-nents and all of which have been shutouts for Potsdam’s opposition. The Bears dropped consecutive contests to Os-wego State, falling 4-0 and 3-0 on November 21st and 22nd, respectively, before dropping a 6-0 decision to No. 1 Platts-burgh State on November 25th.

Ott’s Doing it Again: For the second consecutive season, Jordan Ott ’17 is leading the Bears offensively with seven points on four goals and three assists. Ott, the 2013-14 ECAC West Rookie of the Year, matched a SUNY Potsdam single-season record with 36 points last season, also setting single-season records in goals scored with 22 and power-play goals with nine.

A Split in Net: Potsdam sports a two-headed goaltending attack in Alexane Rodrigue ’16 and Abby Tardelli ’17. Out of seven total games this season, Rodrigue has played four of them, accumulating over 245 minutes in net, while Tar-delli has played the other three, totaling 180 minutes. Each goalie has a win on the season, but Rodrigue has recorded more saves, 139 to 115, a better save percentage, .939 to .906, and a superior goals against average, 2.20 to 4.00.
