ELIZABETHTOWN HIGH SCHOOL
CLASS OF 1966
50-YEAR REUNION! Friday, Saturday, Sunday
June 17-19, 2016
Friday 7:00PM: Gathering in the Garden at the Brown-Pusey House. A casual evening of welcome with finger foods, BBQ, and the soothing sounds of David Lowe’s music ensemble, “Lisa and the Men in Back”. Beverly Malone shared her fascinating life story. An auction supported our EHS Class of ’66 Scholarship Fund featuring the artistic talents of classmates who generously donated art, textiles, stain glass, books, baking, and woodworking. Saturday 9:45AM: Museum Tours began at the restored Historic State Theater, then next door to the Hardin County History Museum. From there it was on to the Swope’s Cars of Yesteryear Museum with lunch provided by the Whistle Stop Café. Saturday 3:30PM: Sunset Dinner Cruise We boarded a tour bus at our hotel, the Fairfield Inn & Suites, for the ride to Captain’s Quarters just north of Louisville. There we enjoyed a cocktail reception on the River Deck as several others from the area arrived. At 6:00PM we posed for the group picture and boarded the luxurious CQ Princess yacht for a pleasurable 3-hour sunset dinner cruise on the Ohio River. Sunday 11:00AM: Memorial Service held in the T.K. Stone Auditorium to remember 23 classmates who are no longer with us. Memories were shared of those who touched us in some unique way. Our old high school study hall, recently renovated, was the perfect venue for reminiscing. For all who didn’t have to rush off, we enjoyed the Father’s Day Sunday Brunch at the Stone Hearth Restaurant. Class gatherings will continue as opportunities arise. Send us an email when you will be in the Elizabethtown area, [email protected]. We’ll spread the word, gather your friends, and enjoy reconnecting.

Thank you to all who generously contributed your talents and treasures to raise more funds for the Elizabethtown High School Class of ’66 Scholarship fund. Memorial Service
Epitaph By
Merrit Malloy
When I die Give what’s left of me away
To children And old men that wait to die.
And if you need to cry, Cry for your brother
Walking the street beside you, And when you need me,
Put your arms Around anyone And give them
What you need to give me.
I want to leave you something, Something better
Than words Or sounds.
Look for me
In the people I’ve known Or loved,
And if you can not give me away, At least let me live in your eyes
And not your mind.
You can love me most By letting
Hands touch hands, By letting bodies touch bodies,
And by letting go Of children
That need to be free.
Love doesn’t die, People do.
So, when all that’s left of me Is love,
Give me away.
