12:00 – 13:00 Hobbies and CraftsOur teacher will lead the children in a wonderful arts and crafts session, organising creative, hands–on projects for boys and girls; and of course all the subjects will relate to nature. The children may get messy, but they definitely won’t get bored. Junior Rangers will have the opportunity to undertake and master more complicated crafts.

14:30 – 15:30 Game TimeWe would like all the children to join us for our indoor and outdoor afternoon games which are really fun as well as being educational.There will be treasure hunts, blindfold adventures, memory and card games, and bushveld games that will be completely new to all the children.Junior Rangers will learn environmentally inspired board and stone games, have contests such as scavenger hunts or play team games in EleFun Centre grounds or out in the bushveld.

ELEFUN CENTRE AT SAB I SAB I BUSH LODGEFamilies with children have always been welcomed at Sabi Sabi’s Bush Lodge and the family experience has reached a new level since the opening of the EleFun Centre, a fully fledged children’s facility within the lodge environs which fosters children’s awareness and appreciation of nature.The centre was designed by childcare professionals who set about creating a space that is fun, safe and educational. The EleFun Centre offers hands-on, interactive activities designed for 2 distinctly different age groups. The Junior Tracker programme is for 4 to 8 year olds, and the Junior Ranger programme is for children between the ages of 9 and 12.The Elefun Centre is filled with learning opportunities which all of Sabi Sabi’s young visitors have the chance to experience. Age-appropriate bushveld themed activities and ‘edutainment’ are designed and supervised by qualified staff, and include interesting bushcraft subjects – animals, bugs and birds, tracking, map-reading – a long list of environmentally sensitive subjects that every child will find fascinating. There is also time for creative hobbies, arts and crafts, and the afternoon sessions are filled with fun bushveld games. Selected rangers lead bush walks and talks, as well as specially planned children’s game drives. The beautifully designed centre has a wonderful and secure outdoor play area.While set itineraries take place every morning and afternoon, the children are welcome to enjoy the facility between formal sessions.Mums and dads can relax and enjoy the incredible safaris, get pampered in the spa, or just kick back and enjoy some private time, knowing that their children are reveling in their own special bushveld experience.

Junior Rangers - Weather permitting, a ranger will lead the older children on exciting outdoor adventures. The activities may include nature walks, tracking, bird identification, map reading and a variety of other bush related subjects. In case of bad weather, the ranger will make use of the display table in the Elefun Centre and still engage the children in fascinating bush activities.

Junior Trackers - Depending on the age of the children, there will be exciting adventure walks with a ranger into the bush or around the lodge. The young junior tracker group will learn all sorts of interesting details about the Sabi Sabi bushveld and the animals, bugs and birds which live on the reserve. Even the trees and plants provide loads of fun educational opportunities.
