basis but a very little number of employees know how to work on database systemwhich shows that they are still using register system for data entry and somedesignated employees transfer it into electronic form later.

Human Resource of the organization is not fully capable of using EC as their lack of

    awareness to EC shows this.

They are upgrading theirtechnology and installing ERP software but their

organizational structure is a hindrance for this installation.

Nothing can be more important than E-Commerce for ARY One World as it is a news

channel and most of their work requires speedy internet and computer professionalsso implementation of E-Commerce is very beneficial for theirbusiness.

The level ofcommitment towards E-commerce is low from both management and

    employees.

Administration of the organization wants to implement the E-commerce but they

dont want to do online transactions.

    PEER ANALYSIS:

There is a lack ofGovernment Support.

ARY One Worlds competitors are GEO News, AJJ, Dawn, Express News, BBC and

CNN. In the implementation of Ecommerce BBC and CNN are very developedchannels but ARY One World is leading Pakistani news channels which are GEONews, AJJ, Dawn and Express News.

There are many supporting businesses for ARY One World but the most important

of them are News agencies, Telecommunication, Satellite, Press and Internetindustry. Most of them ar3e using E-Commerce but ARYs E-Readiness is lower thanthem except Press and News agencies where E-readiness level is very low.

    ELECTRONIC COMMERCE BENEFITS:

The major benefit which ARY One World is enjoying through E-Commerce is cost

saving. As they are saving the cost of extra employees by using emails forcommunication and after installing ERP software they can save more cost e.g. as

ARY One World is a news channel so they can use ERP for fast movement of newsto different departments. And they are leading most of their competitors through ECimplementations.

Most of their communication is through internet so in this way they are saving their

time cost and are enjoying paper free environment.

    SUGGESTIONSFORIMPROVEMENT:

As awareness level in the employees is low so the administration should either higherqualified employees or train present employees. They should also training and knowledgeof Database Management to their staff.

We have designed above model by considering the security problem which was the majorconcern of the respondent. In this model we have distributed central database into fourportals as model consist of four departments i.e. Administration, Finance/Accounts,Marketing and HR. Each department has its own portal where its data is stored and thecentral database is controlled by IT department. If a department wants to have anyinformation from the database of other department it can refer to IT department which willallow it after consulting to the department whose database is to be used in this way theinternal and external security of organization will be tight.

    IIUIS FM (FM 90.6 MHZ):

FM 90.6 is a non-commercial Radio Channel used by International Islamic University,Islamabad. It was established in 2004 and at the moment it is covering the areas of FatehJang, Chakri, Khushab, Chakwal, Gujar Khan, Murree, Bagh and Rawalpindi/Islamabad.

    INFORMATION GATHERED FROM QUESTIONER:

According to Mr. Nasir Fareed (Assistant Director Media & Incharge FM Radio IIUI)

Communicating with customers through website for getting order and proving customerservice

B/w 10-20 computers are being used in the organization and all departments areinterconnected with each other through both wired and wireless network. The organizations

website is in developing stages. Information system is being used by Administrationdepartment only. There is no central information system in the organization and centraldatabase for their data processing. B/w 10-20 employees operate email software on aregular basis and 10-20 know how to work on database. The organization has no ERPsoftware. For handling all IT based communication there is no central department.Finance and Lack of Government Support are barriers to implement Ecommerce in point ofview of Mr. Nasir Fareed.

    POER ANALYSIS:

Level ofawareness in the organization was not good as they havent sufficient funds(as the channel is non commercial) to recruit highly trained professionals.

Human Resource of the organization is not fully trained and professional.

Being a non commercial channel they are not emphasizing on business

    development.

There are very low number of computers but they are trying to upgrade their

technology (as Voice of Germany is donating them computers for a lab to train their

staff and university students if Media and Mass Communication).

The level ofcommitment towards E-commerce is good, both management and

    employees are enthusiastic.

Administration of the organization (university administration) is not supportive to

    finance for EC up gradations.

    PEER ANALYSIS:

Government is providing a normal amount ofSupport to IIUIs FM, because it is a

government organization and is being funded by HEC, Ministry of Education andseveral educational trusts.

Market forces are large in numbers if we see in this organization in a broad

perspective. But if it is taken as just an educational purpose-based radio channelthen it has the ability to compete with others as they habe almost the same level ofEC implementation.

Supporting industries for IIUI FM 90.6 are surely internet communication and

telecom industry. Softwares firms can also help them. Education sector arethe mostimportant supporting industry for IIUIs FM 90.6.

    ELECTRONIC COMMERCE BENEFITS:

IIUIs FM radio can take huge benefits by implementing E-commerce. They can save

cost by having less employees in their every department. Paper free environment isvery much required in this organization. IIUI as a whole is still very backward in someof its systems due to lack of automation and mostly using manual systems so toremain at its market place and to grow further as a leading university it has toimplement E-commerce at a very large scale

    SUGGESTIONSFORIMPROVEMENT:

    They should have more computers.

To create a Paper Free Environment, all employees should use Email software.

Their Employees should be capable to operate data base system.Information System should also be used in other departments of organization.

To achieve a high level of E-Readiness they can install ERP software in the organization.

    PEER ANALYSIS:

In the Telecommunication, market force must be there survival. In this field ones

need to be effective & efficient so it is necessary to have effective EC to becomeleader and remain in competition.

Telecommunication is also supportive to E-Commerce. As both the EC and

telecommunication are nearly related industries and need effective Intranet, Onlineservice, website, document management, empowerment rule, customer service, etc.So it is necessary to have good EC to improve telecom industry.

Due to the financial crisis and new government setup Wateen, is not supporting the

heavy investment policy as compared to the earlier years.

    ELECTRONIC COMMERCE BENEFITS:

The greatest benefit the Wateen is getting from the Electronic Commerce is cost

saving e.g. by simply looking at how they are providing the service. There basicproduct is Internet service and most of the target market know there name throughadvertisement. If someone wants to get the Wateen service he can go to Wateenwebsite, fill the form or simply call the customer service centre. They will approach tohim in next 24 hours. It is possible only due o effective Electronic Commerce setup. They saved there cost of establishing to many offices and running only few offices. From the communication, Wateen employers contact with each other through email

and notification on intranet and telephone cells. For example when there serviceprovider (technicians) goes to the customer he will make a call to office andmeanwhile he is busy working, the office will send next customer address by textmassage and make a call so that there efficiency is increased. There good ElectronicCommerce infrastructure has helped them to beat PTCL Broadband and otherinternet service providers. Because if you place an order on PTCL website they willcontact you after in given 72 hours as compared to 24 hours of Wateen.

They have moved towards specialized business rather also investing in franchises.

Now they can manage the inventory and employees working due to the Data BaseSystem and ERP Software.

This has help them to BPA (Business Process Automation) they dont waste there

recourses like too much employees doing a same job, over employment. Rather awhole process of work is defined and every one knows his work and no delay isaccepted and usually done.

This Electronic Commerce has help there efficiency and productivity.

These are all ultimately customer benefits that he is getting from them.
