ssociation of EEE is organizing national level technical event “EXULT”. The national level

technical symposium has events like paper presentations, quiz competitions, project model

displays and poster presentations from various engineering colleges. We have been

organizing “EXULT” for last six years. Eminent personalities from various colleges and Universities

are invited to act as Judges and made it a grand success.

The main aim of this symposium is to highlight the current status and emerging trends of

technology in various topics towards the betterment of industrial research and IT fields. It will be a

great opportunity for students to exchange their experiences through innovative ideas and make them

acquired with latest technological trends.

As a befitting reward to its incessant efforts in developing the department, the Department of

Electrical and Electronics Engineering has added a feather in its cap by receiving the Prestigious

accreditation for two years from the NBA.

and parameters optimization of Multi-machine power system stabilizers using artificial

Modern Power System Operation & Control from 28.06.2012 to 11.07.2012 jointly

organized by AICTE and B.V.C. Engineering College, Odalarevu.

Prof. K. Satyanarayana, HOD-EEE, has attended Faculty Interaction Programme &

Industrial Visit organized by M/s Effectronics Systems Pvt. Ltd., Vijayawada on

28.08.2012.

Mr. G. Naresh, Assoc. Prof, NBA Coordinator, has attended a Training Session on

Leadership and Team Building on 16.10.2012 organized by Confederation of Indian

Industry (CII) at Hotel Sarovar Portico, Kakinada.

Mr. B. Ramesh, Asst. Prof. has attended one day Workshop on NPTEL Awareness

Programme at Aditya Engineering College, Surampalem on 26.11.2012.

Mr. S. M. Shariff, Asst. Prof. and Mr. M. Balaji, Asst. Prof. were attended Three day

National level Workshop on “Simulation of Power Electronics and Drives” from

29.11.2012 to 01.12.2012 at G. Pullareddy Engineering College, Kurnool.

Projects in Community Service” from 2.12..2012 to 05.12.2012 at Hyderabad.



GUEST LECTUREs Conducted by EEE DEPARTMENT UNDER IEEE STUDENT BRANCH :

1. IEEE Student Branch of Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department of this college

has arranged the guest lecture with Sri V.S.R.Murthy, D.E. (Assessments), APEPDCL,

Rajahmundry on “Importance of Transformers in Power Utility” on 09/08/2012. The

guest lecture was held in Seminar hall-I and around 202 students of Electrical and Electronics

Engineering Department, faculty, Directors’, Principal, Head of the Department of the

college were attended the programme.

2. Sri. Ramesh Oleti, Jr. Engineer, Power System Operation Corporation Ltd. (POSOCO),

Mumbai has delivered guest lecture on “Challenges Faced in National Grid Formation

and Management in India” on 23.08.2012 under IEEE Student Branch in Seminar Hall-I.

Around 195 students of Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department, faculty,

Directors’, Principal and Head of the Department were attended the programme..

entitled “Witricity” and won the 3rd prize in TECHNOZION held at NIT, Warangal.

“North Grid Failure” and won the 2nd prize in EXULT- 2K12 held at Pragati Engineering

College, Surampalem.

IINNDDUUSSTTRRIIAALL VVIISSIITTSS::

III year EEE (2010-14 batch) students visited the Spectrum Power Generation, Uppada on

04.09.2012. Here the students observed the total equipment and its functioning of Power

Plant. This is an successful trip under the guidance of faculty members of Mr. B. Ramesh &

Ms. Ch. M. Lakshmi.

Events:

The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering of this college organized a One-

day National Level Technical Symposium “Exult-2k12 Under STRIDES” on 21st Dec, 2012.

This event was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Sri.Ch.Dwarakanath, Station Director and

Senior Vice President., Reliance Power Plant, Samalkot. The Chief Guest advised the students

to take up the core areas as their carrier. Dr.P.Krishna Rao, Chairman of the college addressed

the gathering and congratulated the department for organizing this type of events to the students.

Dr. A.Kailasa Rao, Director of the college welcomed the gathering. Prof. K. Satyanarayana,

HOD of EEE Department and Convener briefed the audience about the Event.

Sri.M.V.Haranatha Babu, Director congratulated organizers for making the event a Grand

success. Dr. A.Kailasa Rao, Director, Prof. K Anand Mohan, Director (Admin), Dr.G.Raghu

Ram, Director, Dr.S.Sambhu Prasad, Principal and other Heads of the departments, staff

members were present in the function.



PRASTAVANA (Paper Presentation)

This Event is a beacon of light for all those who are deeply involved in researching the different

dimensions of science and engineering. It is designed to refine concepts, develop scientific attitude

and approach towards problem statements.

PRAKALPA (Project model display)

This event mainly deals with how the principle involved in that equipment can be utilized for the

future design of new equipments, which will be widely accepted than the present equipments.

POSTRVARA (Poster Presentation)

It provides a platform to showcase their experiences through innovative ideas and make them

acquired with latest technological trends.

A total of 150 Engineering Colleges across the Country have participated in this event. Totally

312 articles were received for paper presentation, project models and poster Presentations for the

contest. Out of which only 25 papers, 25 project models and 35 poster presentations teams were

selected for presentations. Dr.R.Kameswara rao Assoc. Professor of EEE Department and

Sri.K.Ravindra Asst. Professor of EEE Department, JNTUK, Kakinada were the judges for

judging the winners of the above Events.

3) POSTRVARA (Poster Presentation)

First Prize: K. Rajesh, S. Vijay Kumar – “How sound energy converted to electrical energy” from

AIMS College of Engg, Mummidivaram.

Second Prize: V. Sowjanya, V. Vijaya Sri – “North Grid Failure” from Pragati Engineering College,

Surampalem.

Engineer’s Day Celebration:

Department of EEE has celebrated Engineer’s Day on 15.09.2012 on account of Sir Mokshagundam

Visweswarayya Birthday celebrations and on this occasion Elocution and Technical Quiz

competitions are conducted. Prof. K. Satyanarayana HOD of EEE Department welcomed the

gathering and Chief Guest of the function, Dr.S.Sambhu Prasad, Principal of the college addressed

the staff and students regarding the importance of Engineering Education and its Effective

Utilization. The winners of the above competitions are awarded with mementos by Dr.S.Sambhu

Prasad, Principal of the College and Prof. K. Satyanarayana, HOD of EEE and Staff members.

Fresher’s Day Celebration:

Our II EEE students organized freshers’ fest on 26.09.2012 in our college to welcome their juniors

for electrifying the sprit in the course of electrical engineering. Prof. K. Satyanarayana, HOD of EEE

and Dr. A. Kailasa Rao, Director & Prof. welcomed the gathering and Chief Guest of the function,

Dr.S.Sambhu Prasad, Principal of the college addressed the first and second year students regarding

the importance of Fresher’s day.
