Course Overview The Electrical Equipment in Hazardous Areas course gives students the competency to undertake electrical work in a hazardous area and aligns to the requirements outlined in AS/NZS 4761 Competencies for working with electrical equipment for hazardous areas. Through the combination of theory & practical activities, participants will gain the knowledge & skills to report, inspect, install, maintain & attend to breakdowns of electrical equipment. The Electrical Equipment in Hazardous Areas refresher course also meets the requirements for continuing education to be undertaken on a regular basis, as stated in AS/NZS 60079.14 Explosive atmospheres – Electrical installations design, selection and erection and 60079.17 Explosive atmospheres – Electrical installations inspection and maintenance.     Entry Requirements

    4 days - full course Participants are required to hold a UEE30811 – Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician (Electrical Licence or equivalent).Restricted Electrical Licence holders and Electrical engineers may be eligible for full or partial Statement of Attainment. Please contact us for more information.

    2 days - refresher course Participants require a previous Statement of Attainment to be eligible for updated units of competency
