The EULD Electric Ultra Low Profile (ULP) Dozer is designed as a very low profile remote-controlled machine for multiple uses. Ultra Low profile and remote control makes it suitable for cleaning of slopes after blasting in a low reef mine (under 0.9m). It is controlled by a single operator using a remote control unit.

The EULD is equipped with a blade for digging and pushing the blasted ore in front of the machine. The EULD is capable of handling up to 110 tons of ore per hour. The EULD is a battery powered electric machine which gives it full autonomy. The main reasons this machine is electric are:

• There is no diesel exhaust and efficiency is much higher. Heat introduced into the environment is a small fraction of heat generated by a diesel powered machine.

• EULD has a lower energy cost per ton than any other haulage solution. Higher energy efficiency reduces energy consumption by up to 70 % compared to an equivalent diesel machine.

• EULD requires less service and maintenance than diesel engine machine. The interval between servicing is much longer.

• Less need for ventilation – EULD requires a minimum of ventilation and is an ideal choice in areas where ventilation is an issue. Ventilation costs can be cut by up to 90% compared to diesel alternatives.

• Safer, cleaner, less heat, lower noise level.

• Design dimensions can only be achieved by using electric technology.

The EULD was developed with the following system requirements:

• Safety of personnel• High performance in the most difficult working conditions

• Low maintenance requirements

• Capable of operating on inclines up to 30 degrees

• Environmental protection

• Ability to work in high temperatures of up to 60°C

• Ability to work in low profile (0.9m)
