SECURITY WITH BIOMETRICS

Biometric systems have been used in banks and high security areas since many years.

Now biometrics is also available for daily use by private persons and enterprises.

Today´s systems work with optical, capacitive or thermal sensors. Due to the high security

against manipulations, resistance against environmental influences and the best scanning

results, we have integrated the thermal line sensor.

Special characteristics (minutiae) are filtered out of the scanned image, filed as a biomet-

ric key and then compared.

No image data are saved. Only a binary code is saved which can under no circumstances

be transformed into a finger image.

No images are saved but simply an encrypted binary code of the finger characteristics. „ “

THE ARCHITECTURE

Three software components may be installed on one or more servers. A master server

is responsible for the entire system. One or more terminal servers or LAN converters

administrate the finger scanners of each building. Users and doors are administrated

via the administration software.
