General guideline of the company fully harmonized with the philosophy of the Group is the implementation of technical projects and the provision of complete technical solutions with the main scope to be the total satisfaction of the customer, the prompt response on its occasional needs as well as the respect of the technical specifications of each project. Member of the Greek Egnatia Group of Companies in the Romanian territory with the headquarters in Bucharest is Egnatia Rom. The company was founded in July 2005 with its main scope the provision of complete GSM Telecom Network Implementation solutions initially for the needs of Cosmote Rom and in parallel the investigation of the local market with the main target to be the establishment as one of the major companies in the telecom-structural field of a country member of the European Community.

Initial technical object of the company was the implementation of complete and technically justified “turn key” solutions of GSM network construction. In the 2 ½ years of presence, although the starting direction remained the same, the company started to extend lately in the entire Telecommunication field as well as in the 2nd half of 2007 in the construction of bank retail shops taking as an advantage the growing presence of the Greek banks in Romania. Next businesses steps of the company shall be its activation on the field of the Renewable energy resources with its initial object the Wind power systems and the introduction in the Real Estates Field.

Achievements Since July 2005, Egnatia Rom has succeeded to make its presence enough noticeable especially in the Telecommunications field but also in the General constructions field, having been nominated prize of newly presented company for 2005.

Having as criteria the more and more demanding and growing local market and in order to secure the total customer’s satisfaction, since its founding, the company is constantly trying to include in its structure and workforce, persons highly educated and technically trained , able to carry through the daily activities with high sense of responsibility and completeness of a unique project.

Nowadays the company outnumbers 45 engineers of all kinds, 25 persons with high technical skills, and 10 persons of Administration services. At their majority they are of young age, graduates of Polytechnic schools that after their daily occupation in high demanding projects, they consist an experienced team able to respond on every kind of project and to enforce the presence of the Group on any kind of activity may be involved in.

Aim of the current structure, is the personnel to work under such an environment that will indulge 100% of each persons skills, knowledge and capabilities. Scope of the company is through its operation, the engineers-technicians to enhance and constantly to self-develop their “know how”.

The company is hosted in offices of total surface of approximately 500m2 and for the current needs of the running projects, Egnatia Rom outnumbers a fleet of 31 cars mainly 4x4, and a warehouse of 1100 m2 that guarantees the secure transportation and storage of all the goods-materials.

In order to respond successfully on the needs especially of the Cosmote project and for the construction of all types of Base Stations, Egnatia Rom is supplied materials mainly from Greece from other members of the Group such as Egnatia Foundry, Egnatia AETTEK (metallic structures factory) and SHELTER, as well as from local suppliers but in a smaller range.

In parallel, it has been developed a network of 40 approximately subcontracting companies that offer all kind of services that are necessary for the needs of the not only the Cosmote Project but also of similar ones. Their selections was done based on the constant and persistent on site supervision in order to justify their liability, the technical capability but mainly their adoption on the way of working that distinguishes all members of the Egnatia Group.

Having begun its operation in July 2005, Egnatia Rom initially was involved in the maintenance and restoration of the existing Cosmorom Network which at that time numbered more than 800 base stations. Despite the volume of the works , the company has succeeded to accomplish successfully the assigned project in less than 5 months indicating the official starting up of the collaboration of the company with the main client of the Group in the country which is the Cosmote Rom.Since Sept 2005 and up till now, the company provides complete “turn key” services of implementation & development of telecom network on behalf of Cosmote. Having created a sense of secure ness and liability towards its client , Egnatia Rom represents the major contractor of Cosmote Rom having as an area of interest East and North East part of Romania (40%) of the Romanian territory with more than 50% of the overall work volume of Cosmote. In the early 2008, due to the successful 2007 performance, Cosmote Rom aims to expand the assigned area with the total northern part of Romania having as a result, Egnatia Rom to be assigned more than 50% of the Romanian territory.For the needs of the specific project, the company has managed the acquisition of more than 400 new sites and the full implementation of more than 500 new B/S integrated in the new Cosmote Network.

Since June 2007 the company is cooperating with Piraeus Bank in the Retail shops implementation and licensing. Till the end of 2007,Egnatia Rom has succeeded to deliver 5 completed shops in various cities of Romania (Bucharest,Iasi,Bototsani, Suceava) and starting with 2008 another 3 works orders were assigned to be implemented.

Having obtained the technical “know how” in this field and taking the advantage of the constant growing presence of Greek banks in the Romanian territory, the company has approached potential clients such as Cyprus Bank and Alpha Bank, aiming to attract new clients and to develop as much as possible to this business unit.

Generally in the telecom field and since Sept 2007,having started a pilot project, the company is involved also in services of infrastructure development of fixed network on behalf of the major Telecom services provider and member of the OTE group. RomTelecom. In the beginning of Dec 2007 and having completed the first pilot assignment, was proposed the prolongation of the collaboration in official form which on the time being is under investigation.

Fully harmonized with the European and international energy developments and together with the financial assistance by the European Union as new entered member from 2007, Romania aims to enter dynamically the Renewable energy resources (RES) field. Egnatia Rom with the technical support by the affiliated department of Greece with its 2 year experience in the specific area, is currently researching both the fields of the energy producer as well as to be one of the most competent companies on the domain providing complete & integrated “turn key” services.

New Projects

Lately the company is interested in applying its structure to evolve in the Real Estates field. Already were approached parcels to be potentially business parks and apartments centers and yet are under investigation in terms of construction terms & permits.
