Introduction This guide describes the changes made in EFI Pace version 31.01. The first part of the guide describes the new feature and enhancement updates to the EFI Pace system, while the second part of the guide lists the defects repaired in version 31.01.

Before you upgrade your EFI Pace system to version 31.01, read the descriptions of the changes made to all the modules that you plan to use. Also read about the minimum system requirements and review any changes with other system users, as applicable. If you have any questions about how the changes may affect you or about changes that you must make to your system before you upgrade your system, please contact your EFI Pace Support representative.

User Interface

[PACE-69521] 31.01-3148 We fixed an issue where the Review Prompt check box remained selected, even if you deselected it. Now finishing operation forms no longer pop up whenever you recalculate an estimate.

[PACE-68689] 31.01-1 We updated Debian Stretch to address Linux Q2 2020 vulnerabilities.

Job Importer

[PACE-63777] 31.01-1 As part of the performance improvements for XML import, EFI Pace now imports using multiple threads in parallel.

To benefit from this higher performance, do all of the following:

1. Navigate to Administration > Connect Center > All Connects.

2. Select the Data Objects Importer Connect record.

3. Click the Execution Options tab and enter 10 in the Maximum Concurrent Executions field.

4. Click Update.

5. Navigate to Module Setup > Receivables > A/R Settings.

6. On the Aging tab, select the Background Calculate Work In Progress check box.


7. Click Update.

8. Navigate to Module Setup > Inventory Control > Inventory Settings.

9. On the Inventory Settings tab, select the Background Calculate Qty Allocated check box.

10. Click Update.

[PACE-62142] 31.01-2328 When you enable the Quantity-Based Pricing feature in Inventory Settings and Inventory Items include customers associated with quantity price discounts, when the system calculates an estimate, it bases the Material Price on the Planned Quantity and Customer from the inventory item.

[PACE-56339] 31.01-2429 CUPS now uses the EFI Pace SSL certificates, and TLS 1.0 has been disabled.

Data Collection

[PACE-62270] 31.01-1996 The Data Collection Task List now reflects the running status of a started task if an employee other than the one who started the task views the task list.

The status indicator now includes a spinning icon to reflect the running status. The indicator tracks the status as follows:

RED = Upstream task not started


YELLOW = Upstream task running

GREEN = Upstream task completed/Current task ready to start

BLUE (spinning) = Current task in progress

Estimating

[PACE-61841] 31.01-2062 The Estimate now includes field values by default from the Estimate Request using xPath in OMB.

Job Shipment

[PACE-61841] 31.01-2062 EFI Pace now includes the new Original Planned Qty field. The system derives the default value for this field from the Qty Per Carton field on a newly-created planned shipment, and when you update the Qty Per Carton value, EFI Pace updates the Original Planned Qty.

If Process Shipper partially processes the job shipment, the system retains the value in the Original Planned Qty field, and you cannot manually override this value.

Estimating

[PACE-58602] 31.01-1948 You can now select the new Double Sided No Gripper Change check box on the Press record to indicate that a press can print double-sided without gripper changes. This is typically used on perfecting web presses, and this attribute is used in conjunction with Metrix to calculate the correct number of impressions for the correct layout.

PaceConnect-Printable

You can now edit an estimate while the system calculates it. When you recalculate an estimate that is in the process of calculating, the system stops the previous calculation and start a new one.

PaceConnect-Fiery

If the Ship Via record does not include a value in the External Freight Code For Tax field, the system uses the External Freight Code from the ONESOURCE PaceConnect.

To enable this feature on your existing ONESOURCE integration, do all of the following:

1. Remove the External Freight Code from the ONESOURCE PaceConnect record.

2. Add the codes to use in ONESOURCE mapping (mapping to be completed with the ONESOURCE team) to your Ship Via Detail pages.

Database Changes

You should run the Version Compare Tool in the EFI Pace Admin Console before you upgrade your EFI Pace system. This tool enables you to view all the changes made to the database in EFI Pace since your last upgrade. Because these changes may affect custom jobs or reports in your system, you should check and modify any customizations as necessary to match the new database schema.

To compare versions of EFI Pace, do all of the following:

1 Navigate to the Backup/Upgrade section of the EFI Pace Admin Console main page and click Version Comparison Tool.

Tip: Refer to the Admin Console guide in the EFI Pace Online Help system for information on how to log into the EFI Pace Admin Console and additional details.

The Version Compare Tool page appears.

2 Do all of the following:

• In the Old Version field, select your current version of EFI Pace.

• In the New Version field, select the version of EFI Pace to which you want to upgrade.

• Click Show Differences.

The Version Compare Tool page refreshes, with a list of statistics and differences between the two version of EFI Pace that you selected, including new, modified, and removed fields and objects.
